Lifestyle queen Martha Stewart is recovering after clashing with one of her dogs.

The TV personality needed nine stitches to close up a wound on her upper lip after accidentally headbutting her French bulldog, Francesca.

Stewart was leaving her home on Tuesday when the accident happened, and her driver took her to a nearby hospital, where she was treated by plastic surgeon Dr. William Nolan.

Blogging about the incident, she writes, "I must have startled her, because she bolted upright with such force that she hit me in the face like a boxing glove hitting an opponent's face. I was entirely startled and my neck snapped back. I felt a bit of whiplash as blood gushed forth from my split lip."

Stewart asked her assistant to take photos of the split lip as she waited for treatment, and she has posted the snaps online.

The TV star closes her blog post with a thanks to the medics who helped stitch her up: "Thanks to the hospital staff for their prompt and professional attention and of course, thank you, Dr. Nolan!"

Colin Firth dedicates Walk of Fame star to wife

AP Photo/Reed Saxon

Colin Firth fought back tears on Thursday as he dedicated his Hollywood Walk of Fame honor to his wife Livia.

The actor, who is tipped to win an Oscar for his portrayal of King George VI in "The King's Speech," was saluted with the 2,429th star on the famous Los Angeles strip during a ceremony outside British pub The Pig & Whistle.

Firth became emotional as he received the honor and told the crowd that Livia's support has proved invaluable since he found fame.

He said, "When I look down there at that star, it's her name I see.

"I want to thank everybody that has accompanied me on this extraordinary journey, but probably more than anybody I could ever imagine Livia, who has walked every step of this with me joyfully and truthfully."

Firth later lightened the mood by cracking a joke about his Walk of Fame induction, adding, "I have a feeling I'm going to be here when I'm about 93 under a pile of blankets asking for spare change and trying to convince anyone that will listen that I'm the guy whose name is on the sidewalk -- failing to recognize that the old lady next to me is in fact Emma Thompson."

Aretha Franklin was baffled to hear the media attribute her recent health crisis to pancreatic cancer, insisting she has no idea where that rumor came from.

The Queen of Soul, 68, canceled a string of end-of-year concerts last month on the advice of her doctors after she was struggling with a mystery illness.

She was subsequently hospitalized and forced to undergo surgery, amid claims she had been diagnosed with the deadly disease, with unidentified family sources appearing to confirm the news.

Franklin has since spoken out about her health problems to assure fans she is recovering well from the operation, but she has repeatedly refused to divulge details about what ailed her.

However, the singer wants to clear up the false cancer reports, revealing only that she sought medical help after experiencing a pain in her side that "was so hard it almost brought me to my knees."

She tells "Access Hollywood," "I don't know where 'pancreatic cancer' came from. I was sitting there reading the newspaper and it was saying someone in my family said that. No one in my family ever said that to anybody."

The star claims the successful surgery has added at least 15 years to her life, according to her doctor, and there is one particular high-profile fan who has been cheering her on throughout her recovery -- U.S. president Barack Obama.

She says, "I got a wonderful and beautiful letter from the President. And nobody does it like him!"

Donald Trump rejected Lindsay Lohan as 'Apprentice' contestant

Real estate mogul-turned-reality TV star Donald Trump turned down the opportunity to include Lindsay Lohan as a contestant on the new "Celebrity Apprentice," because it's "not the right time" for the troubled actress.

Lohan has spent the past year in and out of rehab and recently completed a court-ordered stay at the Betty Ford Clinic in California to battle her addiction issues.

Lohan star is eager to get back to work and had been in talks with Trump to rebuild her image and feature as part of the line up for the upcoming season of "Celebrity Apprentice," which kicks off in March.

But Trump rejected the idea because he insists Lohan needs more time to sort out her personal life before stepping back into the limelight -- although he's not ruling it out for future series.

He tells Life & Style magazine, "(The Lohans) approached me, and we did talk about it. It's just not the right time.

"Lindsay has to straighten herself out first. ... It could happen in the future, but right now we need to see Lindsay get straightened out."

Lohan is facing jail time for again violating the terms of her probation following an altercation with a staffer at the clinic in December, and she is expected to learn her fate at her next court hearing on February 25.

The full list of new contenders to become Trump's "Celebrity Apprentice" was unveiled on Friday. They include La Toya Jackson, Dionne Warwick, rockers Meat Loaf and Mark McGrath, actors Marlee Matlin and Gary Busey, and former teen idol David Cassidy.

Kelsey Grammer endured an "uncomfortable" family gathering on Thursday as he introduced his estranged wife to his new fiancee.

The actor split from his wife of 13 years, Camille, last summer and is now engaged to marry his new girlfriend Kayte Walsh.

Grammer is currently battling his estranged spouse in court as he seeks to have the marriage dissolved quickly so he can exchange vows with Walsh. Camille has asked for his request to be denied until they reach an official divorce settlement.

The former couple are trying to put their legal woes behind them this week for the sake of their kids, with Grammer introducing Camille to Walsh for the first time.

Camille admits the meeting was frosty at first, but she eventually warmed to her former partner's new love.

She tells Popeater.com, "I saw Kelsey and I met Kayte for the first time. It was a little uncomfortable at first, but then I met her and I shook her hand and I looked into her eyes and I thought, 'She's OK, she's nice.' ... It's really important for me and Kelsey to be friends and amicable for our children's sake. Because you know, we have to co-parent and that's the correct way to do it."

Grammer and Camille are parents to two children, while the actor has two other kids from previous relationships.

Camille also has denied she meant anything by her recent comments on Howard Stern's radio show about Kelsey liking to dress in drag, claiming it's imperative to "play" about during an appearance on Stern's popular radio show.

She tells Popeater.com, "I was joking. I have known Howard for years and when you agree to do his show you know you have to play."

Sick Usher ordered to rest by doctor

Sick R&B; star Usher has postponed a further two dates on his European tour after a doctor prescribed bed rest to fight off a respiratory illness.

The singer pushed back a planned gig at the O2 World in Berlin, Germany on Wednesday after falling ill earlier this week. He returned to the stage for the rescheduled concert on Thursday, but cut the gig short after just a handful of songs.

He subsequently postponed Friday night's show in Rotterdam, Holland and now he's pulled two more upcoming performances -- Saturday's gig in Oberhausen, Germany, and Sunday's date in Antwerp, Belgium, in a bid to regain his health.

Usher's representative tells WENN, "Usher is suffering from an upper respiratory illness which is currently preventing him from performing a proper show. After consultation with doctors, he has been advised to reschedule the upcoming dates in order to get the rest he needs to ensure a complete recovery."

He says, "I have been very excited about my European Tour and I deeply regret having to reschedule the shows. I am truly sorry for any inconvenience I have caused my fans. My fans are the best in the world and I am looking forward to getting better so that I can give them the show they deserve."

The Rotterdam show has been pushed back until March 1, while the Antwerp gig will now take place on March 7. Rescheduled dates for the halted Berlin concert and the Oberhausen show have not yet been confirmed.
