Jessica Simpson set to become a fashion billionaire
Singer Jessica Simpson is on the fast track to becoming a fashion billionaire - her various clothing and beauty ventures have racked up a huge $750 million in sales in the last year alone.
The trendy star has built up a business empire with her shoe, handbag, denim, swimwear and fragrance lines and retail sales of her products have been booming in 2010, according to WWD.com.
Simpson's colleague, Vince Camuto, whose company is the main licensee for the star's own-brand merchandise, is convinced her success is all down to her fan-friendly image.
He says, "People like her. People look at her as a style icon."
And she's set to boost her profits in the years to come by launching a new sportswear range next autumn.
Simpson says, "This new sportswear line reflects my evolving style, which combines comfort, femininity and flirty fun."

Boozing Jessica Simpson stops pregnancy reports
Jessica Simpson set out to dismiss any pregnancy rumors for good on Tuesday by enjoying a boozy night out with her fiance, Eric Johnson.
The former football player proposed to the pop singer last month after just six months of dating, sparking speculation Simpson was rushing down to aisle because she is expecting her first child.
Simpson recently laughed off the rumors, and moved to silence them further by downing margaritas and tequila shots after performing at the lighting of the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree in New York,
A source tells New York Post gossip column PageSix, "They were very well-mannered and drank basil lime gimlets, pineapple 75's, Maker's on the rocks, margaritas and wine. They ordered a lot of food. Jessica let her guard down enough to steal a few kisses from her fiance in front of papa Joe. Jessica, Eric and the crew settled on shots of Don Julio to finish out the evening."

Jessica Simpson brushes off pregnancy rumors
Jessica Simpson has dismissed rumors she is pregnant by her new fiance, insisting "there are no babies yet."
The pop singer became engaged to former football player Eric Johnson earlier this month after just six months of dating.
The quick engagement led to speculation the happy couple is already on the way to starting a family, but Simpson is adamant she's not pregnant, although she does want to have a child with Johnson in the future.
She tells "Access Hollywood," "There are no babies yet. But I definitely see myself having a family with him, so that's exciting to think about."

Jessica Simpson's tears over proposal
Jessica Simpson burst into tears when her fiance Eric Johnson popped the question earlier this month because his marriage proposal came as "a total surprise."
The sports star asked for Simpson's hand in marriage on November 11 after six months of dating, and the singer admits she had no idea what her partner was planning.
Simpson reveals Johnson requested her parents' permission before asking her to marry him, and she was so overwhelmed by the romantic gesture she couldn't stop crying.
She tells "The Early Show," "(He) had a plan a long time ago. He had a (talk) with my mom and dad about it... He was a gentleman about it.
"(It was) a total surprise. I had to sit on his knee. I was shocked. To really get what was happening... I said 'Yes' and we both definitely were teary-eyed. I didn't even try the ring on until five minutes in. I just sat there and cried with him."
Simpson was delighted with Johnson's decision to buy her a ruby ring instead of a traditional diamond, because the gem symbolizes her birth stone, and she also wants their wedding ceremony to be "different" because she has already walked down the aisle once before.
She adds, "I've already done the traditional thing. I wanted to do something that was different."
Simpson was previously wed to Nick Lachey. They divorced in 2006 after three years of marriage.

Simpson's beau 'proposed at 11 p.m. on 11/11'
Jessica Simpson's sports star beau, Eric Johnson, chose November to propose to the singer after a psychic singled out the number 11 as a significant figure in her future, according to reports.
The blond beauty announced her engagement to Johnson last weekend, after six months of dating.
The National Enquirer claims Johnson got down on bended knee at 11 p.m. on the big day because he knew the date was important to Simpson.
An insider says, "A numerologist told Jessica that the number 11 was going to be an important number in her future, and Eric knew it. So he waited until November 11 to pop the question.
"Eric knew that if he didn't propose that day, he would have had to wait until November 11 of next year!"
Simpson was previously married to 98 Degrees singer Nick Lachey. He revealed his plans to wed long-term girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo just a week before Simpson's engagement news.

Jessica Simpson is engaged to wed new boyfriend Eric Johnson, her spokesperson has confirmed.
Reports emerged on Sunday suggesting retired football star Johnson had asked the blonde beauty to be his wife on Thursday - six days after the singer's ex-husband, Nick Lachey, announced plans to wed his long-term girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo.
Revealing the news, Simpson's representative tells People.com, "Yes, we are excited to confirm that they are engaged!"
Simpson and Johnson began dating in May while he was estranged from his first wife, stylist Keri Johnson; their divorce was finalized last month.
The singer recently opened up about their relationship, gushing to the website, "This is just normal, thank God. He's very, very supportive. (I) couldn't ask for a better man in my life right now."
Simpson and Lachey, who appeared together on MTV reality show "Newlyweds," divorced in 2006 after three years of marriage.
Asked for his comments on Simpson's surprise engagement, Lachey tells UsMagazine.com, "I will say the same thing I always say - I wish her the very best."

Jessica Simpson has dispelled rumors she is distraught by the news of Nick Lachey's engagement to longtime girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo, insisting she "couldn't be more happy" for her ex-husband.
Former 98 Degrees singer Lachey announced plans to wed Minnillo last week after four years of dating.
Tabloid reports claim Simpson has been rocked by the news, but she has spoken out to silence the gossip and offer her best wishes to her ex.
She tells Los Angeles radio personality Ryan Seacrest, "I don't know where all those rumors came from. My mom actually called me and told me that everybody was saying that I was 'saddened'. And I was just in complete shock. ...
"I am extremely, extremely happy for him. I couldn't be more happy for Nick. Our relationship was over a really long time ago so it would be nice if everybody could move on with us and really just celebrate the love between him and Vanessa -- I do. I wish them nothing but the best."
Simpson and Lachey, who documented their three-year marriage on MTV reality show "Newlyweds," divorced in 2006.
The blond beauty is now dating retired football player Eric Johnson and she can't wait to spend the upcoming holidays with his family in New York.
She says, "My first New York Thanksgiving! (Johnson's) family is going to be with us on the float at the Macy's Day Parade, and my family will be there."

Jessica Simpson has publicly declared her love for her new boyfriend Eric Johnson - branding the former football player "the one."
The singer has been unlucky in love in recent years with a broken marriage to Nick Lachey and a failed romance with John Mayer.
Simpson's last boyfriend, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, dumped her on the eve of her 29th birthday last summer.
But the star has bounced back with a new relationship with retired San Francisco 49ers player Johnson, who she has been dating since May.
And Simpson is pleased she has finally found a man who understands her.
She tells People.com, "As far as Eric and I go, we're just best friends. He's my dude! I love him. This (relationship) is just normal, thank God. He's very, very supportive... Couldn't ask for a better man in my life right now...
"He's the one for me right now! I'm very happy. I'm in a great place, and if right now could last forever, I'd take it.

Jessica Simpson's boyfriend, Eric Johnson, is no longer a married man -- the former foot player's divorce has been finalized.
The singer is said to have begun dating the retired San Francisco 49ers star back in May, after he separated from his wife, Keri.
The former couple has been in the process of divorcing while Simpson's relationship with the ex-sportsman blossomed.
And now Johnson is officially single again after his marriage was officially dissolved on October 7, according to US Weekly.com.

Jessica Simpson marks first anniversary of dog snatch
Pop star Jessica Simpson urged fans to treasure their pets on Labor Day to mark the first anniversary of her Daisy Mae tragedy.
The pop star's beloved Maltese terrier was snatched by a coyote outside the Simpson compound in Hollywood a year ago and Simpson is still in mourning.
In a tweet to fans, she writes, "This day last year my life changed because I lost my baby Daisy Mae - the best pup of all time... Give your dog some extra love today!"
The pet was never found, despite an extensive hunt through the neighborhood. Simpson believes the coyote, which ran off with the pooch in its mouth, killed and ate it.
