Home of the San Francisco Chronicle
Kevin Lynch
In a moment of quiet realization, Kevin Lynch discovered
that he has spent 19 years covering the 49ers and the NFL in the hopes
of recapturing the golden moments of watching Monday Night Football with
his older brother and Scottish immigrant father, Martin Lynch, a former
rugby and squash player from the border town of Hawik, where the
long-running joke is, "If a cat in Hawik has a tail, he's a tourist."
Martin was long ago promoted to that celestial tennis club beyond the
clouds.
Kevin Lynch's byline has appeared in the Oakland Tribune, Santa Rosa
Press Democrat, San Francisco Examiner and, for the last seven years,
the Chronicle. His voice has been heard on KNBR (as a guest co-host with
Ralph Barbieri) on KCBS and most recently as a fill-in host for the
Progressive News Hour on Green 960-AM. The 40-something enjoys pick-up
basketball, fast-pitch softball, tennis, golf, lively political
discourse, hikes with Henry the Dog, yucks in the press box, weekend
poker games with old high school buddies and a good blitz pickup.
Lynch hopes to lend insight, opinion and fun to the daily doings of the
Bay Area's most prominent sports team.
David White
David White has been covering the Raiders since 2006. He's active in church ministry, more active chasing his three kids ages 4-and-under and roots hard for the San Francisco Giants, Fresno State baseball and Selma High wrestling.
