Come Monday-Thursday for a daily changing three-course menu that costs around $29.

The café at Chez Panisse offers simpler fare but the products are no less pristine and since they don’t take reservations, you avoid the drag of getting a reservation at a decent hour.

Very cosy and elegant place where to eat fabulous and creative vegetables!

The homemade pasta is incredible. Sauces vary, obviously, but the simple heirloom tomato and basil pasta we had was exceptional.

Fabulously simple elegant dinner, since the dining room is super cramped and lacking in ambiance, I am going to spend less next time and dine upstairs at the cafe!
Epicurious
The daily-changing menu is limited (one option per course), but not a single dish of the three courses will disappoint at this sophisticated, eco-friendly Berkeley mainstay.

I ate here alone. Sad. But delicious. Come here with a friend so that you can have a conversation about the food. Soo good. Oh - be sure to RSVP. This place gets packed, fast.

Don't believe the hype. Mediocre at best. Stay in San Francisco and go to range or maverick instead.

I love sitting in the cafe section of this venerable establishment as it is really cozy & often features a lighter menu more geared to my tastes... great food without a stuffy atmosphere!

Café upstairs preferred to set menu downstairs. Stinging nettle pizzetta always a bonus when it's on the menu--get it.

If making a res for dinner for 2 upstairs, ask for the table underneath the tree.
