Kanye West booed at Thanksgiving parade

Kanye West received a frosty reception from New Yorkers at the city's annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thursday - the rapper was booed as he performed for the crowds.

The hip-hop star was one of many artists, including Jessica Simpson and Kylie Minogue, to hop on board a float for the festive show.

But West's appearance failed to fill some spectators with holiday cheer and he faced a chorus of boos and jeers as he made his way through the streets of the Big Apple.

A video has surfaced online which shows the crowd heckling the star with chants of "Taylor! Taylor!" in references to his spat with country star Taylor Swift. West is booed repeatedly by hundreds of onlookers in the footage, while spectators can be heard yelling, "You're an a**hole, buddy," and "Hey Kanye, jump!"

Rihanna baffled by interview with Kanye West

Pop star Rihanna was left baffled by Kanye West's bizarre questions as he interviewed her for a new magazine feature.

The singer appears on the cover of the latest issue of Interview and she agreed to sit down for a chat with West to accompany the photoshoot.

But West's strange line of questioning soon confused the "Umbrella" hitmaker and she was left struggling to find answers to his inquiries.

The rapper asked, "Do you know any famous people now?" and the singer simply replied, "Huh?"

He went on to describe the bright pink tank prop she used in her recent stage shows as a metaphor for the "American Dream" and a "great piece of commercial pop art." and the pop star dismissed his take on it, replying, "I never actually thought of it like that."

Rihanna was also confounded when West asked her, "How does it feel to know that you could have any man in the world. Or woman. How does it feel to know that you can turn straight women gay?"

She answered, "Is that a real question?"

Russell Simmons: 'Kanye West has no need to apologize'

Hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons has urged Kanye West not to change his ways following his disastrous interview on TV last week, encouraging him to "keep on" in an open letter to the embattled star.

The "Stronger" hitmaker sat down with "Today" presenter Matt Lauer last week in an effort to publicly reply to disparaging comments made against him by former President George W. Bush, who branded the moment West called him a racist on live TV as the "most disgusting" period of his presidency.

But the chat didn't go as planned and West accused Lauer of trying to manipulate his answers during the uncomfortable interview, which the hip-hop star claimed left him feeling "alone, used and tortured."

The controversy has prompted many critics to take aim at West's behavior, but Simmons insists the rapper has "no need to apologize" because he was simply expressing his feelings as best he knew how.

In the heartfelt note, posted on GlobalGrind.com, Simmons maintains West was simply voicing a shared sense of abandonment in the African American community when he blasted Bush as a racist during a telethon for the victims of 2005's Hurricane Katrina.

He writes, "When you spoke about President Bush during the Katrina telethon, it was not the particulars of your words that mattered, it was the essence of a feeling of the insensitivity towards our communities that many of us have felt for far too long.

"It was the image of the President, our President... peering out the window of an airplane, as the people on the ground were drowning, that hurt us the most. For centuries, our people have relentlessly tread water (sic) as hard as they could to stay afloat, and here we were, literally drowning, and it felt like the President was insensitive.

"There is no need to apologize, Kanye. You spoke from your heart and that is all we will ever ask from you. Don't be afraid of the press, as your art is your blueprint... Keep on, Kanye. Keep on. We love you. We cherish you. And we will always have your back."

Angry Kanye West cancels 'Today' show concert

Kanye West has scrapped a planned concert in New York for the "Today" show after a bitter fall out with TV bosses over his recent interview on the program.

The rapper was due to perform in the Big Apple for the show on November 26 to promote his new album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, which is released the same week.

But West is now refusing to honor the commitment after an uncomfortable interview on the "Today" show earlier this week, which the rapper claims left him feeling "alone, used and tortured."

The taped chat aired on Thursday, with host Matt Lauer ending the segment by stating West will return to the program later this month to perform - and the announcement has prompted a furious West to confirm he's axed the gig.

In a series of angry posts on his Twitter.com page, he writes, "I'm not performing on the Today Show for obvious reasons... I blatantly said I'm not performing on a Tweet and to everyone around me and the next day they still announced a performance.

"Do you guys see what I'm saying now? This is just a small slice of the day-to-day bulls**t that goes on that helps to precipitate the idea that (I'm) such an a**hole. Cause when I don't perform 'Oh now I'm the one that's crazy or a jerk.' "

He later adds, "I don't hate Matt Lauer... They made a mistake. They thought they could pull it (off) but they couldn't. That was just a small representation of a bigger media play that's been going on since the beginning of time... Much love to Matt and the whole Today Show. I accept ya'll future apology in advance."

Kanye West to cut down on interviews

Kanye West is stepping away from the promotional trail for his latest album, insisting he is tired of facing "scrutiny" about his personal life and fielding questions about Taylor Swift.

The rapper has been candidly discussing his 2009 MTV Video Music Awards confrontation with Swift, as well as his war of words with former U.S. President George W. Bush ahead of the release of "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" later this month. West controversially accused Bush of not caring "about black people" in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

But the hip-hop star now wants to cut back on the number of interviews he gives - because he wants his music to speak for itself.

In a series of posts on his Twitter.com page, West writes, "I've decided to fall back a bit on interviews in order to 'sell my album'. I can't come up with some magic trick to make people like me.

"I've made mistakes, I've paid the price, now it is what it is. I'm gone (sic) make this art but I'm not going to be scrutinized as a human being.

"No more Bush questions... no more Taylor questions... no more relationship questions.... and the music is unquestionable sooooo.....

"I am a creative person.... I'm not a good celebrity but I'm a great artist... I'm tired of using my celebrity to sell my art."

Kanye West's mile high concert

Kanye West provided his own in-flight entertainment for passengers jetting to New York on Friday, when he took over a plane's intercom system and performed two of his biggest hits.

The rapper was flying first class from Minneapolis, Minnesota to New York as part of the promotional tour for his upcoming album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy when he decided to play an impromptu mile high concert.

The "Stronger" hitmaker blasted out his tracks "Gold Digger" and "Good Life," much to the bemusement of fellow flyers.

A source tells Hollywoodlife.com, "He couldn't decide if he wanted to do 'Good Life' or 'Gold Digger,' so he was like, 'I'll just do a little bit of both.' It was awesome... but I still have no idea how he got (hold of the microphone)."

Kanye West: 'Now I know how George W. Bush felt'

Kanye West has responded to former U.S. President George W. Bush's revelations he was left "disgusted" after the rapper accused him of racism, insisting he now knows how the ex-leader felt thanks to his shameful antics at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.

In a TV interview to be broadcast next week, Bush reveals that West's declaration the then-President did not care "about black people" in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina was one of the toughest parts of his tenure as U.S. leader.

And in a radio chat on Wednesday, West admitted he can now understand how Bush would have felt following the slur because he was also accused of racism when his stage protest ruined Taylor Swift's winning moment last year.

He tells 97.9 The Box, "I definitely can understand the way he feels to be accused of being a racist in any way, because ... the same thing happened to me. I got accused of being a racist, and ... with both situations, it was a lack of ... compassion that America saw in that situation.

"You know with him (Bush), it was a lack of compassion with him not ... taking the time to rush down to New Orleans. With me, it was a lack of compassion of cutting someone off in their moment. But nonetheless, you know I think we're all quick to pull, like a race card, in America.

"Now I'm more open and the poetic justice that I feel to have went through the same thing that he went through, and I really more connect with him on just a humanitarian level because that next morning, the next morning when he felt that, I felt that same thing too (sic)."

Amber Rose to tell all about Kanye West romance

Kanye West's ex-girlfriend Amber Rose is set to lift the lid on their romance -- the model is planning to tell all on a new TV show.

The beauty began dating the "Stronger" hit maker at the start of 2009 and their on/off relationship finally came to an end earlier this year.

West's new short film Runaway is rumored to be about his love life with Rose, and now the 27 year old wants to tell "the world" her side of the story in a new TV project.

In a series of posts on her Twitter.com page, she writes, "I wrote my own show & will exec produce it. ... I'm gonna show the world what I'm about! Can't wait to start filming! For two years the media said what they wanted about me without knowing me at all & I kept my mouth shut. … Now, it's my turn to talk. Never wanted fame just wanted love. ..."

But Rose is adamant she's not bitter about the split, adding, "God dealt me this hand so I'll take it as a blessing. I loved a famous man & he loved me. He showed me the world & a whole new life ... Thank you."

Kanye West slams awards shows

Kanye West has reignited the controversy over his treatment of Taylor Swift at last year's MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) by criticizing the world's most high-profile award shows, insisting most of the winners don't deserve honors.

The rapper hit headlines when he stormed the stage at the show in New York and ruined the country star's acceptance speech by insisting the Best Female Video prize should have been given to Beyonce instead.

West has now opened up about his disdain for awards ceremonies, including the Grammy Awards and the VMAs, insisting voters should pay closer attention to the charts when they make their selections.

He tells Access Hollywood, "Where's our instant replay clock? Why are the last four Albums of the Year: Taylor Swift, Dixie Chicks, Ray Charles and Herbie Hancock? Like, you know, with all due respect ... that's inaccurate. It's like 'SexyBack' you know what I'm saying? Like (Justin Timberlake's) 'FutureSex/LoveSounds,' Gnarls Barkley. How about Usher - 'Confessions'? How about albums that sold 10 million?

"I pinpoint the Grammys and the VMAs because they have to take responsibility, because they mean something to us. Little kids, 6 years (old), that are singing in front of the mirror. They're also thinking about their Grammy speech; they're thinking about when there will be a VMA so these people, whoever run them ... they have to take some responsibility to say what really happened in culture this year because we're marking it down."

And West is adamant he is not complaining because he hasn't won the awards he wants, but is speaking out on behalf of "all artists,"

He adds, "It's not really about me. It's about everybody. It's about all artists. It's about fair ground. If Drake is having an awesome year and his year is better than mine, I'm not gonna say I should win. I'm gonna say Drake should win."
