Brooke Mueller's mother: 'Vegas trip with Paris Hilton prompted rehab stay'

Brooke Mueller checked herself back into a rehabilitation facility last weekend after fearing she would slip in her battle for sobriety by flying to Las Vegas to party with Paris Hilton, according to her mother.

Charlie Sheen's estranged wife first sought treatment for personal issues in February, following her bust-up with the actor in Aspen, Colo., last Christmas.

She admitted herself into another sober living center in Los Angeles on Saturday and is expected to remain there for two weeks as she continues to stay clean.

And Mueller's mom, Moira Fiore, reveals a planned vacation with pal Hilton prompted her daughter to seek further help because she was "scared" she would lose her grip on her sobriety.

Fiore tells People magazine, "Brooke is struggling with sobriety, and we are going away on a cruise, so we feel better that she will be there while we are gone.

"Paris and the other girls were going to Las Vegas, and Brooke did not feel she could handle it; she was scared. Brooke is really trying to get her life back."

Paris Hilton's car breaks down in Los Angeles

Paris Hilton was left stranded in Los Angeles on Tuesday after her hybrid car broke down.

The socialite was driving through Los Feliz when her GMC Yukon hybrid suddenly stopped at the side of the road. Hilton subsequently discovered she had run out of gas and electricity, which are both required to power the vehicle.

The blond beauty called her pal Brooke Mueller to help her out, and the estranged wife of Charlie Sheen quickly arrived on the scene with petrol canisters to fill up Hilton's engine.

And Hilton kept her fans up to date with her driving drama throughout the incident, writing on Twitter.com, "So brutal, my car ran out of gas, waiting for my girls to come rescue me.

"I saw that it said low fuel, but it said I had 32 miles of gas left. So I thought I could make it to the gas station. Brooke to the rescue! Thank goodness for great friends."

Paris Hilton's boyfriend cleared over alleged hit-and-run

Paris Hilton's boyfriend Cy Waits will not face any charges for accidentally running over a photographer's foot with his car, according to a report.

The socialite and her partner were driving away from a Los Angeles restaurant in September when Waits allegedly clipped female snapper Carol Williams, before speeding off.

Paramedics were called to treat Williams, while Waits reportedly returned to the scene later without Hilton and was cited for a hit-and-run by police.

Williams subsequently insisted she was "at fault as much as him" and now cops have cleared Waits over the incident, according to TMZ.com.

Paris Hilton's family approves of Cy Waits

Paris Hilton's mother has backed the socialite's boyfriend Cy Waits despite the couple's recent scandals, insisting she "really likes him".

Hilton was driving through Las Vegas with the former casino worker on the night of her infamous drugs bust in August.

The hotel heiress was convicted of cocaine possession following the incident, while Waits was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

The couple hit headlines again last month when Waits was cited for alleged hit-and-run after reportedly striking a photographer with his car.

But Hilton's mother, Kathy, is adamant Waits is a good match for her famous daughter.

She tells E! Online, "I really like him. I think he's a gentleman."

While Hilton's aunt, Kyle Richards, adds, "He's really sweet. He's a really good person. He treats her well and that's all we care about.

"He lets her be who she is. He's not competitive with her like a lot of people she's dated. He's just proud of her."

Photographer defends Paris Hilton's boyfriend over clash

The photographer who alleges Paris Hilton's boyfriend Cy Waits ran over her foot has defended the businessman, insisting she was "at fault as much as him" for the incident.

The socialite and her partner were driving away from a Los Angeles restaurant when Waits allegedly clipped the female snapper, before speeding off.

Paramedics were called to the scene to treat photographer Carol Williams, while Waits reportedly returned to the scene later without Hilton and was cited for a hit-and-run by cops.

But now Williams has spoken out about the clash - insisting she shouldn't have been "out in the middle of the street" in the first place, adding, "I admit I am at fault as much as him."

She also defended Waits' decision to speed off following the scrape, telling TMZ.com: "After he rolled over my foot, he rolled the window down and asked if I was fine... someone else answered for me and said 'yes' and he drove off... I want to take responsibility for my actions."

Paris Hilton turns to charity work

Paris Hilton is hoping to put her recent drug conviction firmly behind her by turning her attentions to charity work.

The socialite was handed a one-year suspended sentence and ordered to attend an "intensive" substance abuse program after pleading guilty to cocaine possession following her arrest in Las Vegas last month.

Hilton subsequently scrapped a promotional tour after she was refused entry to Japan because of her drugs bust, and since she has been back home in California, the hotel heiress appears to have adopted a "healthy" new lifestyle with gym sessions and a new diet.

And now Hilton is making plans to visit sick kids at The Children's Hospital in Los Angeles this week to teach them how to paint.

In a post on Twitter, she writes, "Went to Michael's Art Supply Store today, bought a lot of fun art projects. Going to The Children's Hospital this week to do art with them."

The news comes just days after Lindsay Lohan, who was jailed twice this summer, made a trip to visit homeless teenagers at a shelter in L.A. The outing came just two days after the actress was released from prison on bail, stemming from a probation violation and two failed drug tests.

Paris Hilton leaves Japan

Paris Hilton axed her tour of Asia and flew out of Japan on Wednesday after immigration officials refused to grant her entry to the country.

The socialite jetted to Japan on Monday just hours after she accepted a one-year suspended sentence in Las Vegas for possessing cocaine.

She was stopped by officials on arrival at Narita International Airport in Tokyo on Tuesday over her drug conviction and was questioned for several hours.

The heiress was ordered to stay at a nearby hotel while a decision was pending on whether to allow her to enter the country, but on Wednesday Hilton boarded a plane bound for the U.S.

As she headed for the departure lounge, she said, "I'm going back home. I look forward to coming back to Japan in future and I love everyone and can't wait to see my fans when I get back."

In a post on her Twitter.com blog, she added: "About to take off. Going home now. So dissappointed (sic) to miss my fans in Asia. I promise to come back soon. I love you all! Love Paris xoxo."

Hilton was due to travel around the Far East with her sister Nicky to promote her chain of fashion shops and launch her new fragrance, Tease, but the entire trip, which included stops in Indonesia and Malaysia, has now been canceled.

A representative for the star says, "Paris Hilton has decided to return to the U.S. after a lengthy delay at Japanese immigration. Paris is very disappointed and fought hard to keep her business commitments and see her fans, but she is forced to postpone her commitments in Asia.

"Paris understands and respects the rules and laws of the immigration authorities in Japan and fully wishes to cooperate with them. Paris looks forward to returning in the future to a country she loves and has been coming to for the past 10 years."

Japanese immigration officials have refused to confirm whether Hilton was banned from entering the country or left of her own accord.

Paris Hilton refused entry into Japan

Paris Hilton has canceled a scheduled press conference to promote her fashion range in Japan after immigration officials refused her entry into the country on Tuesday.

The socialite was quizzed by border authorities over her recent cocaine possession conviction upon her arrival in Tokyo - she was handed a one-year suspended sentence on Monday and ordered to attend a substance abuse program following her arrest in Las Vegas last month.

Hilton jetted off to Japan with her designer sister Nicky shortly after the court appearance but her travel plans have been thrown into chaos after she was banned from entering the country.

A source tells WENN, "She was questioned by a Tokyo customs officer for many hours to determine whether they should allow her to enter Japan as they can reject people convicted of drug charges to enter our country.

"It seems at the moment that Japanese customs will not allow her to enter our country due to her arrest for cocaine possession in Las Vegas last month."

A statement issued by her representative, Dawn Miller, reads, "Paris Hilton was delayed by immigration authorities at a Japanese airport this evening after arriving for business obligations planned many months earlier.

"Paris was contractually bound to her business trip and didn't want to let down her brands and many Asian fans."

As a result of her border troubles, Hilton has been forced to call off a press meeting in Tokyo on Wednesday.

The hotel heiress has been allowed to check into an airport hotel while officials investigate the matter further, and Hilton is reportedly undecided about whether to wait until the issue is resolved or leave the country and continue on to the next destination of her tour, reports TMZ.com.

Hilton's business trip was also due to take her to Indonesia and Malaysia.

Paris Hilton given suspended sentence in Las Vegas drug case

Paris Hilton has been handed a one-year suspended sentence and ordered to attend an "intensive" substance abuse program as part of a plea deal stemming from her drug arrest in Las Vegas last month.

The socialite was detained on August 27 when a small bag of white powder fell out of her purse in front of a police officer. She was charged with felony drug possession after the substance was confirmed as cocaine.

Hilton struck a plea deal with prosecutors last week, which allowed her to avoid jail and admit to two misdemeanor charges instead of facing up to a maximum of four years behind bars for the felony.

She entered guilty pleas to the minor drug possession charge and to obstructing an officer during a court hearing in Nevada on Monday.

As part of the deal for a suspended sentence, Hilton must remain out of trouble for the next 12 months - or face spending time in jail.

Handing down the sentence, the judge warned the hotel heiress, "The purpose here is to change your conduct... The Clark County Detention Center is not the Waldorf Astoria but I assure you, if you violate the terms of your probation you will serve one year in the Clark County Detention Center. Treat this very seriously."

Hilton has also been ordered to complete 200 hours of community service and pay $2,000 in fines. In addition, she has been placed on probation for one year.
