Jessica Simpson's ex Tony Romo engaged

Jessica Simpson's former beau Tony Romo has proposed to his girlfriend Candice Crawford - just a month after the singer agreed to marry Eric Johnson.

Simpson and football star Romo split in 2009 and the blonde beauty began dating Johnson earlier this year.

He popped the question to Simpson on November 11 after just six months of dating - and now Romo has cemented his union with "Gossip Girl" star Chace Crawford's sister.

Romo's proposal came during a family meal to mark Crawford's 24th birthday on Thursday, according to KDAF-TV.

Racy Demi Lovato pictures leaked online

Provocative photographs which appear to show troubled Disney star Demi Lovato posing in her bra and partly-exposing her breasts in a low-cut top have been leaked on the internet.

The saucy snaps, which emerged on Twitter, purportedly show the 18-year-old singer/actress surrounded by backing dancers including Alex Welch, who has accused Lovato of lashing out at her shortly before she enrolled in rehab to tackle emotional and physical issues.

In one picture, Lovato appears to be pulling down her top to show off her breasts as she licks Welch's cheek, while another black and white picture purportedly shows the young star posing in just a bra. (To see the possibly NSFW photos, click here.)

Lovato remains in rehab battling her personal problems, while Welch has threatened legal action over the alleged altercation which she claims left her with a black eye and a bruised cheekbone.

Teary Larry King bids farewell to talk show

Revered newsman Larry King shed a tear as he stepped down from his renowned CNN talk show after 25 years on Thursday.

The 77 year old announced he was leaving his weeknight show in the summer and his finale was one to remember with former president Bill Clinton and President Barack Obama both appearing via videolink to congratulate King on his work.

He was also joined in the studio by actor-turned-California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, who proclaimed Thursday 'Larry King Day.'

King's final show was brought to a close by crooner Tony Bennett who sang classic "The Best Is Yet To Come" on a live link from Louisiana.

As he said goodbye to his viewers, a teary King said, "It's not very often in my life I've been lost for words. I want to thank everybody associated with this program, everybody that makes it possible - even the suits at the top.

"When I started out 25 years ago in a little studio in Washington DC I never thought it would last as long as this."

King will be replaced by "America's Got Talent" judge Piers Morgan.

David Arquette plays down nervous breakdown claims

David Arquette has backtracked over his comments suggesting his separation from wife Courteney Cox has prompted a nervous breakdown - insisting it was "a joke."

The couple revealed in October they had decided to take a break after 11 years of marriage.

The former "Friends" star has kept a dignified silence since their trial separation began, but Arquette went public to reveal their lack of bedroom action and how the actress grew tired of his immaturity - and he opened up further on Howard Stern's radio show on Wednesday.

When asked by the shock jock if he's "having a nervous breakdown," Arquette replied, "I believe so."

He confessed he had been drinking heavily since his marriage revelation and had "embarrassed" himself at a Hollywood party after mistaking Tom Cruise for someone else.

But despite his own claims, Arquette has taken to his Twitter page to insist he is not experiencing a meltdown.

He writes, "It is being reported that I'm having a Nervous Breakdown. I assure you am not. This stemmed from a joke I made.

"I always speak my mind and I really don't care what people that don't know me may say. I'm a good person with a huge heart. I thank those that have been on my side during this rough time."

CNN chiefs blame Morgan Freeman death tweet on 'hoax'

Bosses at CNN network have vehemently denied they were to blame for a Twitter.com update alleging Morgan Freeman had died - insisting the message was a "hoax."

TV chiefs allegedly released a message on the microblogging site on Thursday stating, "Breaking News: actor Morgan Freeman has passed away in his Burbank home."

The message was re-Tweeted around the world and prompted an outpouring of tributes to the star.

Freeman's pal Peter Shankman quickly went online to insist the actor was still very much alive, and asked CNN bosses to retract their statement.

It was reported online that the news giant removed the update and said the breaking news was a "mistake."

However, editors subsequently undated CNN's Twitter page insisting they have launched an investigation as the Tweet did not come from them.

On the network's page, bosses write, "CNN did not report Morgan Freeman death. Rumor is false. CNN will aggressively investigate this hoax."

Denise Richards has confirmed she's dating Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx, but insists they're taking the new romance "very slowly."

Reports linking the actress to the rocker surfaced this week, and TV host Andy Cohen took the opportunity to quiz the star about the story during her appearance on Bravo's "Watch What Happens L!ve" on Thursday night.

When asked whether she is dating Sixx, Richards coyly replied, "What's considered dating?" before admitting she has "gone on a couple (of) dates" with the musician.

She adds, "If anything's gonna develop, you want it to develop on its own. That's the god's honest truth, we're taking it very slowly."

Richards has two children with her ex-husband Charlie Sheen and has previously dated Bon Jovi star Richie Sambora.

Julia Stiles slams Michael C. Hall romance rumors

Actress Julia Stiles has blasted reports she is romantically involved with her "Dexter" co-star Michael C. Hall, insisting she had "absolutely nothing to do" with his marriage split from Jennifer Carpenter.

The "Save The Last Dance" star joined the cast of the hit crime drama earlier this year and bonded well with leading actor Hall.

But she has shot down rumors their friendship has become anything other than platonic following the news of his divorce from Carpenter, who plays his onscreen sister in the drama.

In a statement released to E!Online.com's Marc Malkin, Stiles says, "I have absolutely nothing to do with the split between Michael and Jennifer.

"We are good friends and enjoyed working together. This is a personal matter between them, and we should respect their privacy. Although I too prefer to keep my private life, private - I felt compelled to dispel the rumors I was somehow the cause for this matter."

Aretha Franklin 'grateful' to be home for the holidays

Soul legend Aretha Franklin has given her first interview since her release from the hospital, insisting she's feeling "great" and is "grateful" to be home for the holidays.

The singer underwent "successful" surgery at a hospital in Detroit, Michigan earlier this month to treat an undisclosed ailment, with subsequent reports suggesting she has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

The 68-year-old star was discharged from hospital this week and has now spoken out in her first interview since her health crisis, revealing she's feeling much better.

She tells Jet magazine, "I feel great. The doctors say I can do whatever I feel like I am up to do. Of course, that doesn't mean any concerts or anything like that. But I can do things around the house, and today I am just piddling around the house."

Franklin has yet to confirm the nature of her illness, but insists she will talk more about her health problems once she has had time to recover: "This is Aretha time to do whatever it is that I need to do. But I will talk more later."

And the music icon insists she is extremely happy to have been released from hospital in time to spend Christmas with her loved ones, adding: "God has given me the greatest gift already for the holidays. I am so grateful."

Elizabeth Hurley 'bored' of marriage speculation

Elizabeth Hurley is "bored" of the fuss surrounding her separation from husband Arun Nayar, and insists rumors she is preparing to file for divorce and move to Australia are untrue.

The pair's relationship hit headlines in Britain on Sunday when the News of the World reported the actress had spent two nights at a London hotel with cricket ace Shane Warne last week.

The actress has been at the center of speculation that she is set to rush through a divorce and is planning to keep all of her own money. There have also been rumors the beauty is keen to move to Warne's native Australia to be closer to her alleged new love interest.

But Hurley has taken to her Twitter page to blast the reports, revealing she has taken no steps towards divorce and is staying in the U.K.

On her page, she writes, "Bored now of silly speculations: no one is divorcing anyone yet, no one is fighting over money & I have no plans to go to Australia. Enough!"

And the gossip is obviously getting to Hurley - she had to abandon her favorite alcoholic beverage of vodka, lime and soda after running out of the citrus fruit because she's too tired to shop.

She adds, "An all time low; tonight's VLS is actually a VTS. No limes & too slothful to shop. T for tangerine."

Duff McKagan explains sinus surgery

Former Guns n' Roses star Duff McKagan has undergone sinus surgery to remove scar tissue which built up during years of cocaine abuse.

The Velvet Revolver rocker - who turned his back on substance abuse in the mid-1990s - checked into hospital this month for a mystery operation, prompting some gossips to suggest the musician was once again taking drugs.

McKagan has now spoken out to dismiss rumors of a relapse and he's revealed the procedure was necessary to repair the damage caused by his battle with illegal substances.

He tells RockAAA.com, "Thank you all for the very nice well-wishes regarding my sinus surgery recovery.

"I do want to make it clear for those of you who may be wondering... The surgery was a result of scar tissue build-up from my cocaine use which ended sixteen years ago. I have not relapsed on cocaine."

Michael Buble leaves wedding planning to Luisana Lopilato

Michael Buble has let his fiancee Luisana Lopilato plan their wedding - because he wants the actress/singer to have "the perfect day."

The crooner proposed last November and the pair is set to exchange vows in April in Lopilato's native Argentina, followed by a second ceremony for Buble's family and friends in Canada.

Buble admits he's "getting a little nervous" about the big day, which he has let Lopilato organize as he knows the wedding is "a big deal" for her.

He tells British TV show "Daybreak." "It's only four months away. I'm getting a little nervous now.

"The truth is I know a lot of women dream of that day. It's a big deal for them in their life and they want this to be perfect. I'm a boy, I didn't grow up thinking about my wedding day. For me, I just want it to be good for her. I want her to feel like she had the perfect day."

And Buble has revealed he won't be singing as part of the celebrations - because Lopilato has another musical guest in mind.

He adds, "I asked my fiancee if she wanted me to sing and she said no. She said, 'I want Ricardo Montaner.' So now I've got Ricardo Montaner coming!"

Emily Blunt puts on a friendly front

British actress Emily Blunt constantly smiles in public in a bid to dismiss her perceived reputation as nasty and unfriendly.

The star is often associated with being rude because of her cold characters in "The Devil Wears Prada" and "My Summer Of Love."

Blunt is baffled by the tag, but she makes sure she's always grinning in real life in the hope fans will realize she's a nice person.

She tells Britain's Daily Express, "Everyone says: 'You're a right b**ch!' But I'm honestly not.

"I suppose it's the British accent and some of my work, like my first film 'My Summer Of Love,' where I played a very devious girl.

"I try to smile and be as friendly as possible so people will go home and say: 'You know what? That Emily Blunt isn't nasty at all!"

Floyd Mayweather, Jr. arrested

Troubled boxer Floyd Mayweather, Jr. has been taken into custody by Las Vegas police, hours after a judge issued a warrant for his arrest.

The sportsman became a wanted man on Thursday, relating to a charge of criminal battery following an alleged parking dispute with a security guard in November, when he reportedly jabbed the man in the face.

The case returned to court this week after prosecutors complained the star had received preferential treatment during a hearing earlier this month, prompting the judge to sign off on the new warrant.

But Mayweather, Jr. was apprehended by cops on Thursday night after a casino bodyguard recognized him and alerted the local authorities to his whereabouts, reports TMZ.com.

The boxer was still in custody as WENN went to press. If convicted, he faces up to six months behind bars and a $1,000 fine.

Whitney Houston's rep denies daughter intervention report

Whitney Houston's publicist has been forced to deny rumors the singer and her ex-husband Bobby Brown had to stage an intervention to put a stop to their 17-year-old daughter's wild ways.

National Enquirer alleged Bobbi Kristina had raised fears she would fall victim to the same addiction problems as her mom and dad after images of her partying hit the web.

The pictures reportedly prompted Houston to bring in a drug counselor to speak to the teen about the dangers of booze and illegal substances.

But a representative for Houston, who has battled with crack cocaine and marijuana habits, insists the reports are complete nonsense.

The spokesperson tells E! Online, "There is no truth to the reports about Bobby and Whitney staging an intervention with their daughter."

Houston only beat drugs after her own mother staged an armed intervention to get the superstar back into rehab for a more intense treatment program.
