Miley Cyrus causes controversy with club snaps

Miley Cyrus' 18th birthday has been marred by controversy following the emergence of photographs that appear to show the star locked in a compromising position with actor Avan Jogia.

The "Hannah Montana" singer/actress, who reaches the milestone on Tuesday, celebrated with an early party at a club in Los Angeles on Sunday night following the American Music Awards.

Photos allegedly taken during the bash at Hollywood nightspot Trousdale in the early hours of Monday morning have surfaced online and appear to show Cyrus locked in a raunchy position with 18-year-old Canadian Jogia.

In the snaps Cyrus is seen wearing tight leather trousers and a tiny bra top, leaning back over the bar with Jogia pressed on top of her with his lips on her neck.

Cyrus recently split from her previous boyfriend, Australian actor Liam Hemsworth, after nearly a year of dating.

David Arquette: 'I haven't flipped my lid'

Actor David Arquette has brushed off concerns for his mental state after enjoying a number of wild weekends with scantily clad women following his split from wife Courteney Cox.

The "Scream" star has been partying hard since announcing the news of his marriage breakdown in October, and he turned heads again this weekend when he displayed his crazy antics in Miami, Florida.

He even uploaded some photos on his Twitter blog, showing him posing with a bikini-clad pal and hanging out with his friends.

But Arquette is adamant he hasn't lost his mind, despite recently admitting he was devastated by his relationship woes.

In another post on Twitter, he writes, "I know people think I've flipped my lid but I haven't. I'm cool. Listen to Bob Marley's Soul Rebel, you'll know where I'm comin' from."

Charlie Sheen 'made $20,000 offer' by text

Charlie Sheen offered to pay model Capri Anderson $20,000 in cash to "cover everything" just hours after he reportedly trashed a hotel room in New York, according to a new report.

The "Two And A Half Men" actor made headlines last month when police were called to his suite at the Plaza Hotel in the Big Apple amid claims he wrecked a room during a night with Capri Anderson.

On Monday, Anderson broke her silence in a series of TV interviews, claiming she locked herself in the bathroom as Sheen hurled items around the room in a rage.

Sheen hit back, with his lawyers alleging Anderson used the incident to try to extort up to $1 million from the star - but a series of new text messages obtained by TMZ.com is set to blow the lid on the aftermath of the incident.

In the exchange of messages, said to be between cell phones owned by Sheen and Anderson, the actor allegedly writes, "All I need is an Acct (account) number etc and I will wire u 20k if u think that will cover everything... I really feel bad, u are as cool and sexy and as sweet and fun and friendly as they get!... deal with me directly and I promise u kind lady, all will be restored and set straight."

When Anderson tells Sheen she does not have a bank account, he reportedly replies, "Oh, well in that case, lemme (let me) put together a plan to get u square and flush. Can u tok (talk) for a sec now sweetie?"

He later adds, "Good news! My asst (assistant) Rick is good friends with a cat (man) named Mark (surname withheld) in NY, he will get the wire, cash that b**ch, and deliver it to u where ever it's convenient... I'll get the ball rollin in am (the morning), and have data for u asap after that."

Anderson then asks if the money can be left with bank staff for her to collect, and Sheen allegedly replies, "Of course, whatever makes u feel better."

No money changed hands between Sheen and Anderson following the discussion.

Chynna Phillips and Billy Baldwin mark wedding anniversary by renewing vows

Singer/songwriter Chynna Phillips and her actor husband Billy Baldwin have put the nightmare of their divorce proceedings behind them for good - they've renewed their wedding vows.

The Wilson Phillips star filed legal papers against Baldwin in February after undergoing treatment in rehab for anxiety.

She called off the divorce days later after realizing she wanted to fight for her family and the couple patched up its differences earlier this year.

She says, "(The divorce was) an impulsive decision I regret."

Phillips and Baldwin sealed their reunion on September 12 by renewing their vows in front of friends and family just three days after celebrating their 15th wedding anniversary.

The singer tells People magazine, "It was the most romantic, rewarding anniversary we've ever had."

Baldwin says, "Grown men had tears coming down their cheeks!"

And Phillips insists she's managed to control her anxiety issues to enjoy her second chance at love.

She adds, "All we've gone through this year was worth it. Billy loves me no matter how angry, impatient or frustrated I get. You can't put a price tag on that."

The couple has three children together.

Prince William honors fiancee with special wedding date

Prince William and his bride-to-be Kate Middleton chose an extra-special date for their nuptials - the day of the Feast of St Catherine.

The couple announced on Tuesday they will wed at London's Westminster Abbey on April 29 next year following their engagement last month.

And it later emerged they chose a date that reflects Middleton's real first name Catherine - April 29 is the date of the Feast of Saint Catherine of Siena, lauded as one of the greatest female saints of the Catholic Church.

William's private secretary Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton says, "They're on cloud nine like any other newly engaged couple and they're now getting stuck into organizing their wedding. They are completely over the moon - I've never seen two happier people, which is fabulous.

"The couple have chosen to be married at Westminster Abbey on the Feast of St Catherine on Friday 29th April. The couple were moved to choose the venue because of its staggering beauty, its 1,000 years of royal history and its relative intimacy despite its size."

It has also been confirmed Brits will be able to enjoy the wedding in full - the U.K. government has declared April 29, 2011 a national holiday.

Kim Kardashian and Gabriel Aubry are 'just friends'

Kris Jenner has downplayed reports her daughter Kim Kardashian has found love with Halle Berry's ex-boyfriend, insisting the two are "just friends."

Canadian model Gabriel Aubry, who split from Berry earlier this year, sparked speculation of a romance with the brunette beauty after they attended a Los Angeles Lakers basketball game together on Sunday.

But Jenner insists her socialite daughter is still single.

The Kardashian matriarch tells TV host George Lopez, "He is so nice. He's a friend of Kim's... just friends! Isn't he hot? But they're not dating. They're just friends."

Natalie Portman 'dislocated rib' on 'Black Swan' set

Natalie Portman was left in agony after she "dislocated a rib" on the set of new movie "Black Swan" - because producers couldn't afford an on-site medic.

The 29-year-old actress, who plays a ballerina in the Darren Aronofsky film, spent up to eight hours a day in dance training to make her portrayal believable.

Portman appeared on the "Late Show with David Letterman" on Monday night, revealing the sidesplitting pain she suffered after a lift went wrong.

She said, "I injured a rib, I like dislocated a rib, it sort of went under another one, when you get lifted it just sort of went under."

But there was no one on set to tend to her injury - because the film's budget didn't stretch to include an on-call doctor.

She added: "It's funny because when I got injured I called the producer, I was like 'Could you get the medic? I need an ice pack or something right now,' and he was like, 'Oh, we don't have a medic because it's super low budget.'

"I have been working for like twenty years, I don't even think that's legal. I was like before you take away a medic, take away my trailer and the next day I didn't have a trailer, I swear to God!"

'Dull' David Duchovny slated on Broadway

David Duchovny has received a slew of scathing reviews for his Broadway debut - his performance in "The Break of Noon" has been branded "bland," "dull" and "monotonous."

"The X-Files" star appears in the Neil LaBute play opposite Amanda Peet, who he previously shared the screen with in 2008 movie "The X-Files: I Want To Believe."

But Duchovny's turn in the production, which tells the story of a man who survives a horrific mass shooting, has failed to impress New York's theater critics, who have savaged his performance in a series of negative reviews.

Joe Dziemianowicz, of the New York Daily News, writes, "Duchovny's performance is colorless and dull. His long opening monologue... has all the dynamism of bland hospital broth. He seems disengaged, even though, ironically, his presence is responsible for the production's extended run."

Ben Brantley, of the New York Times, describes the "monotony" of the production, adding, "Mr. Duchovny... does admirably by his opening monologue but then fails to find enough variation... to hold our attention," while the New York Post's Frank Scheck brands Duchovny's performance "bland."

Jeremy Gerard, of Bloomberg, adds, "Duchovny leaves whatever sex appeal (he) might have in that Snuggi... It's a subdued performance, lacking connection to the other characters or the audience...

"Whether that's from a lack of stage experience or because even he can't believe anybody is buying... the story is hard to say."

Mark Ruffalo on terror advisory list

Actor Mark Ruffalo has been placed on a terror advisory list by U.S. officials after organizing screenings for a new documentary about natural gas drilling.

The "Zodiac" actor arranged showings for "GasLand" earlier this year and voiced his concerns about the practice in relation to the national water supplies.

But his efforts to raise awareness and demand a stop to natural gas drilling reportedly attracted the attention of officials from Pennsylvania's Office of Homeland Security - and he recently discovered it had landed him on a terror alert watchlist.

But Ruffalo is taking it all in his stride and has laughed off the idea he could be a threat to security.

He tells GQ magazine, "(It's) pretty f**kin' funny."

Will Smith gave Nick Cannon financial advice

Will Smith became Nick Cannon's money mentor when the star was a teenager - because he was wasting his paychecks on "frivolous, unintelligent" purchases.

Cannon was a millionaire music star by the age of 18, but frittered the cash away on luxury cars and jewelry.

He worked with his friend Smith on a TV show in 2001 and Cannon learned a valuable lesson about money from his pal.

Cannon tells the Wall Street Journal, "I became a millionaire and went broke all before the age of 19. I spent it right away and did a lot of frivolous, unintelligent things with the money.

"I bought jewelry and Range Rovers... instead of buying property I was leasing the most expensive property, and then you turn around and you owe the government 44 percent of what you made and you don't understand that, even when people you tell that.

"One of those who was a mentor to me at that young age and opened a lot of doors was Will Smith. I remember when I was going to buy the Range Rover he said, 'Man, don't go buy that, you don't need that'.

"He was someone who made $1 million and lost it at a young age, so you got to pay attention to the people who came before you."

Lawyer: 'Wesley Snipes is not in federal custody'

Wesley Snipes' attorney has dismissed reports the actor has surrendered to authorities to begin his prison term after he was listed by federal officials as "in transit."

On Friday, a Florida judge ordered the "Blade" star to turn himself into police immediately to start his three-year sentence for tax evasion.

Snipes' legal representatives have been fighting his 2008 conviction for the past two years, after he was found guilty of failing to file returns or pay tax on earnings of $38 million, dating back to 1999.

The 48 year old appealed the ruling but lost the case earlier this year.

Reports emerged on Monday suggesting Snipes was in the custody of U.S. Marshals after the Federal Bureau of Prisons website stated Snipes was "in transit."

But the actor's lawyer, Daniel Meachum, insists his client is still a free man and they have not been given a deadline to surrender.

And Meachum has no plans for Snipes to surrender just yet - he's determined to have the ruling overturned.

He says, "Mr. Snipes is not in custody and at this point we have not received a self-surrender date or facility.

"However, we are working hard so that there is never a surrender date or facility for Mr. Snipes to report to other than his house or any other place that he chooses to visit.

"In other words we as his lawyers are concentrating more on freeing Mr. Snipes than we are the facility of incarceration. If it comes to that we will deal with it at that time."

Billy Bob Thornton has a fresh outlook on the media

Billy Bob Thornton has learned to keep his mouth shut about certain things when he's chatting to the media - but insists he'll never be rude to the people who publicize his films.

The actor has been much maligned for his quirks and comments in the past and now, after a Hollywood hiatus, he's back with a vengeance in new action blockbuster "Faster." But this time, he's choosing his words carefully.

He tells WENN, "We're living in a time in the entertainment business when if you have the opportunity to do something real, it is nice to be able to talk about it. Most movies are about vampires in 3D or fantasy movies and war eagles, so when you are an actual actor and you want to do real movies and you want to stay grounded over the years we do get to know a lot of the press.

"It's nice to do real work and come in and talk to you guys about it and I haven't always been tight-lipped, so as a result I would get in a sticky situation every now and then. But right now we rely on you guys when we actually do a good movie or a real movie.

"I suppose that there are guys who will not do a movie for three years and talk to anybody and pass you by and won't sign your kids' things, and then a guy like me, who might say a few too many things, but I'm trying and I will sign your kids' things and I will tell you everything about what I thought about that chick or whatever.

"For the most part you guys have been really good to me. When people say, 'I don't like the press and I don't like the fans,' I say, 'The fans are the people who allow my kids to go to school and keep us going, and I can pay for the house.' You guys are the people to get it out there, so the fans know what the hell is going on, so we owe you guys and in return if we're gonna be forthcoming and honest with you, you owe us to not twist it."
