Wish Lists for a charity

Charity Wish Lists are the same as normal Wish Lists with some additional functionality. This additional functionality enables the operator of the charity Wish List to give additional information about themselves and the intended use of the purchased items.

With this functionality, charity Wish Lists are particularly useful for organisations that want to give Amazon.co.uk customers the opportunity to donate items available from Amazon.co.uk to them.

Organisations which operate charity Wish Lists may not have non-profit making or charitable status. We do not check the charitable or non-profit status or the aims or work of any organisation that creates a Wish List. Nor do we review or verify the details or information provided by organisations about themselves. Before you make a gift you should check to ensure that the organisation concerned is the organisation to whom you wish to make that gift, that the details and information provided by the organisation are correct and that you wish to assist that organisation in relation to its aims and work by making that gift. If you have any questions regarding the operator of a Wish List, the information it has provided or wish to verify that the operator is the organisation to whom you wish to make a gift, please contact the organisation concerned. We will fulfill your purchase order to the operator of a Wish List but it is for the organisation concerned to determine what it does with the purchased item.

The donation of items from the Amazon.co.uk site will not qualify for gift aid and may not be the most tax efficient method of making donations to a charity. For further information regarding tax efficient charitable donations please contact the charity to whom you wish to make a gift or the Inland Revenue.

How do I create a Wish List?

To create a Wish List, ensure you're signed in and go to the product information page for the first item you'd like to add. Click the "Add to Wish List" button on the right-hand side of the page.

You'll then be prompted to add further information that will be associated with the Wish List, such as personal information that identifies you and a delivery address. This information is optional but it will help buyers to find your Wish List and send items to you.

Can I create multiple Wish Lists on my account?

Yes, you can create different Wish Lists for different occasions such as your birthday. Log in and go to your Wish List. On the left-hand side of the page, select 'Create a new Wish List'. On the next page you'll be presented with choices about your Wish List. When you're done, click 'Save'.

Your first Wish List is the default Wish List to which items are added, unless you choose to make a different Wish List your default. After you click the "Add to Wish List" button on a product information page, you'll be given the option to add the item to a different Wish List.

Can I add birthday information?

To associate your birthday with a Wish List you've already created, simply click the 'Show list profile' link on the left-hand side of your Wish List page and click the 'Update this list's profile' link.

Amazon.co.uk will not use your birthday for any reason other than to facilitate Wish List birthday reminders chosen by you and to generate information on the website. If you make your Wish List searchable, others can use your birthday to verify that they're buying a gift for the right person.

How do I purchase from a Wish List?

Search for the Wish List by going to the Wish List page and entering the name or e-mail address of the person you're looking for. If more than one person with that name has a Wish List, the information on the next page should help you to find the right recipient.

When you've found the Wish List for the person you're looking for, remember they may have additional Wish Lists for special occasions. If they have more than one Wish List, you'll see the option to view a different Wish List on the right-hand side of the page.

How do I check what's been purchased?

By default, all Wish Lists displays the "unpurchased" items. To check what's been purchased from yours or anyone else's Wish List, change the option in the "Reveal" drop-down menu at the top of the list to "Purchased". Then click "Go!".

Where are Wish List purchases sent?

When you purchase from a Wish List, you can choose where you want the item to be delivered to. After you proceed to the checkout your address book will be displayed. If the person who created the Wish List associated a delivery address with the list, you'll be presented with the option to send the item to that address (however, you will not be able to view the full address). You can choose any other address in your address book or add a new address.

Organisations provide us with the delivery addresses at which they would wish to receive items you have purchased and wish to donate to them. This address will be displayed to you on the relevant organisation's Wish List. This address may not be the registered or main office address of the organisation and therefore you should not change the recipient's address on the order form. Please contact the organisation concerned if you have any queries.

If you choose to add a delivery address to your own Wish List, people who view your list will only see the town and county and not the street address.
