Nintendo is celebrating the 25th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. by releasing Super Mario Collection Pack for Wii in Japan next month. The game is reported to be a revival of Super Mario All-Stars and will be released on 21 October.
Although Nintendo Of Japan has confirmed the game's existence, the company has yet to release any further details about the game. However, Andriasang reports that the pack will contain a special booklet and a soundtrack CD.
The special Mario booklet is apparently called Super Mario History 1985 - 2010 and will include unseen development materials.
As for the special soundtrack CD, it reportedly features music from Super Mario Bros. right through to Super Mario Galaxy 2. The pack will cost 2,500 Yen.
Super Mario All-Stars was known as Super Mario Collection in Japan. Released in the early 90s, it is a compilation featuring remade versions of all three Super Mario games released for the NES - that's Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 2, and Super Mario Bros. 3. It also featured Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels, the Japanese version of Super Mario Bros. 2.
but will it be a straight rerelease of All stars or the 3 games made in the style of New super mario bros.
Would be ace. Already had a go at modded remake of the first. it was rather impressive.
dsame here on both DS and Wii and your right they really good. also played a fanmade NSMBW 2 and thats pure eviliness but really enjoyable. if this is the old games remade in the NSMB engine then it should be really good and if its a reasonable price i can see this selling bucketloads and the booklet/cd will be great to keep
I nearly got excited when I saw this but without expanding on the original All Stars there seems little point. Surely Nintey could squeeze SMB and Mario 64 onto the disc too.
It seems most people here arent aware that Nintendo already release a 'Mario allstars & Super Mario World' on one SNES cart, so it will at the very least be this, but it would be good if the were remade with NSMB graphics. Id also like to see some more 2D games on there from Gameboy and GBA.
