Increasingly positive outlook for Falklands cruise season

Veendam and Star Princess have planned nine and six visits respectively

With only two months to go before the first cruise ship arrives in the Falkland Islands for the 2010/11 season the situation is looking increasingly positive.
An initial prediction of 58 visits to Stanley may this season in reality be closer to 75 (according to the latest schedule) while the smaller expedition ships are planning almost 100 outer island visits.

US sales of existing homes plunge 27% in July, lowest level in ten years

Sales of existing homes in the US plunged 27.2% in July compared with June to their lowest level in more than 10 years, figures suggest. Home sales completed in the month stood at an annualised rate of 3.83 million, according to the National Association of Realtors (NAR).

Argentine government accuses Clarín and La Nación of conspiring with military regimes

The Argentine government moved Tuesday to take over the country’s only newsprint maker, alleging two leading newspapers illegally conspired with military dictators to control the company three decades ago and then used it to drive competing media out of business.
