According to alleged readers of the mag, Killzone 3...
- Will have jetpacks, which are "surprisingly lightweight and agile... compared to the sluggish incarnations of the gadget found in other games". These double up as a weapon, with a machine gun on top that makes Helghast "explode like Roman candles". To control the jetpack, you "have to activate bursts of speed in midair, propelling yourself across further distances". The Jetpack is said to resemble something from Super Mario Bros. or Uncharted.
- Will include arctic levels. One of which will see you "launch yourself from glacier to glacier".
- Is playable in 3D - but users have to wear 3D glasses. The 3D effects are described by GamePro as "crazy".
- Will show the Helghast have humanity left in them.
- Will have the feeling that "of being in a place far away from home, outnumbered by people who want to kill you".
- Will feature one mission where you rescue ISA Captain Narville
- Will feature "unchanged" combat... However, hand to hand combat involves you "Unloading a string of different (and often brutal) attacks on stunned enemies."
- Is "bigger".
- Features a new weapon called the Wasp, which shoots a "flurry of rockets" at an enemy.
- Will show off Helghast culture and a new language, which will be explored in the game.
- Will have "diverse locales".

Hmm . . . Jetpacks are really hard to pull off. In fact, I can't think of a good game with them. Actually, I'd be surprised if this list is real. Also, it's vague. Also, I don't have a 3D TV.
Given that the first however many comments in this thread are "oo, the 360 fanboys are mad and coming!!", I think it'd be valid to point out that in my time here, I've found the feeling that the population of Sony fanboys outnumbers the population of 360 fanboys significantly. Just the general feeling I get.
Yeah, it does feel like a really quick turnaround since KZ2. I suppose we haven't been given a solid release date, but still, I'd have thought it would have been a bit longer before we saw much of this.
It is also probably the biggest name title yet to shoot for the full-3D experience in gaming - I think this will be very influential as to whether the 3D gaming push succeeds or fails. There will be a lot of eyes watching how it turns out, to say the least.
Also, what's the deal with jetpacks lately? Seriously? First Reach, now this... Everybody wishes they were Duke Nukem .
I have to wonder about the effect of 3D. I've seen the Avatar game running and it was like going back to the previous generation in terms of visual fineness.
It'll be interesting to see a AAA title being specifically geared for release in 3D. I'm really not expecting great things given the leap that is needed from what is currently being produced in two dimensions.
Don't care about the 3D at all, but I can't resist a good jetpack. It looks like this and Halo Reach will be fulfilling my need for aerial based tomfoolery.
Also, liking the inclusion of winter levels. One of the better bits about the first Killzone was the way the levels moved from cities to beaches, tropical jungles, mountains then arctic environments, and diversity was a bit lacking in the second game (Dear god it was brown).
I hope it has more variety in the enemies, as that was the only problem i had with kz2, it has like 3 enemy types solider, trenchcoat solider and huge soliders. Gets abit boring shooting the same thing over and over.
Overwise it was ace, apart from the dialogue where gonna show its a mature game by having loads of unnesscary swearing.
killzone 2 was just amazing, and reading this article has just made me seriously excited for this 3rd one, but id like to play a storyline where you are the helghast, theyve got to be one of the coolest enemies out there. Bring it on!

It doesn't really make sence what your saying because the PS3 has a wider range of different genres to play compared to the xbox. And those games you mentioned is no different to xbox with Halo series, gears of war, mass effect. There all good selling franchises that's why they make them just like sonys franchises.

Killzone 2 was friggin' awesome! I can't wait for this! I hope it's easier to aim down the sight, I know it's realistic for it to be difficult, but come on!

Does 360 have anything to combat God Of War 3? No. Does 360 have anything to combat LittleBigPlanet? No. Does 360 have anything to combat 3D Dot Game Heroes? No. Demon's Souls, MLB The Show, Infamous, Heavy Rain, Modnation Racers, Motorstorm, or Ratchet & Clank?? A big fat NO. All of these titles are very diverse a vastly different from one another. PS3 covers a massive spectrum that 360 can't even begin to compete with (variety wise).

I was a little disappointed with the span of level variety but with the the whole game being based on the planet Helgan which is a dry deserted planet with very little plant life. Heres hoping that they change the planet from helgan to earth or maybe a return to vekta. None of us can make comments about Halo Reach is going to beat Killzone 3 because: 1)There is no date for killzone 3 so there is a high chance Killzone 3 won't even be out this year. 2)Killzone 2 had a beta so iam 100% sure that Killzone 3 will have a beta too.

The jetpack dosn't really do it for me unless its use is limited to a handful of levels(or multiplayer only). I do hope the 3d mode follows in Batman AA's footsteps(which dosn't require the purchase of a highly expensive 3d HdTv)although somehow I doubt it will follow Batman. Looking forward to it anyway though - the first game was good, and the second amazing.
