Iwata: More game announcements coming

Zelda, Pikmin and what else?
Nintendo boss Satoru Iwata has told investors that Nintendo are sitting on some as-yet-unannounced games that will be released this financial year.

Iwata announced Wii Party at the briefing but he is also reported to have said "We have not announced all the software that are going to be launched within this fiscal year, and will make further relevant announcements in the future, so it is not true that we are limiting the software developments for Wii now."

We already know that Metroid: Other M, Zelda Wii, Pikmin 3 and a new Kirby Wii game are on Nintendo's release schedule, but what else will be released?

Well you'd expect games for the Vitality Sensor and 3DS to be unveiled, but what other games would you like Nintendo to reveal soon?

new super mario bros 2 would be good or a reimagined super mario bros 3 for the wii would be class, how bout a new mario kart wii? or at least some dlc for new stages etc etc

What. The. Fuck?

Can't you demand something other than what was being made ten years ago? It's no fucking wonder EA are probably going to pull software support for Nintendo thanks to poor sales of Dead Space Extraction, among others... a rather good game that hasn't been hosted before and sating what Nintendo fans have moaned about FOR YEARS, and that's having some nice original 3rd party content.

But nooooooooo, no, all your sorry arses want is more of the same. God, you make me sick!

If I had my way, I'd have you all lined up and shot. Properly shot as well, gone; kaput, snuffed!

You might think this judgement is a bit harsh... killed for wanting more Mario, but consider this; I am mental and would happily feast on the cutest thing alive, cooked in the most barbaric way; recording the screams and posting them on youtube and HTML linking them to the Balamory website forums.

It's possible I've had too much coffee.

Well I think its been said on these forums already many times, but a proper Starfox and a pilotwings would be good. Also F-Zero with be nice and a proper Super Mario RPG sequel as well (A new Paper Mario would do if not). But going for something unlikely I'd like to see a Zelda four swords sequel or Even a Zelda MMO. Not long now to wait so we'll all find out soon.

Something completely brand new would be nice.
kimoak on 13 May '10
The time is absolutely right for a fully fledged Starfox sequel - one that goes back to the core mechanics of the N64 version.

have you taken your medication today dear boy? Wink

i do understand your sentiments but i'd like to see the old franchises continue whilst new franchises start. the fact that the big N pass of their titles to other dev houses surely leaves room for new IP?

and i don't f^cking well mean Wii Music, Wii Fit, Wii-tard. i can't stand that sh!t

I got the same message. Would be worth looking into.

Mario Galaxy 3!?!??!

How about a proper Wii Pokemon MMO? Screw Monster Hunter, nothing will attract customers to a paid online service better than a Pokemon MMO! Well, me anyway! Apart from that, new IPs please!

boskersrevenge, I'd have most devs lined up and shot these days. I don't think having a go at Nintendo for making the same games is all that fair (or maybe I'm getting your point wrong?) since most devs - mainly western ones - churn out the same junk each year. Why is that OK, but for Nintendo it isn't? I'm sick to death reading about CoD every day or the latest Ubi Soft shite.

On the other hand, while I don't want a new Mario Bros, Galaxy or 'Wii' game either, I wouldn't mind a proper new F-Zero, Star Fox and Pilotwings game. One each gen (if that) isn't a bad thing. I'd also like a Kid Icarus game too

While don't I think the med's the doctor's gave you are working you do have one valid point - Nintendo desperatley needs to create new IP for the core gamers and stop rehashing old characters and franchises. The last time they created original IP was when the Gamecube was released with Pikmin. Since then it's been sequels of old franchises. It's like they've ran out of ideas.
