Final Fantasy IX PSN release date

PSOne classic headed to PSN on May 20 (in Japan)
Final Fantasy IX will be released on PSN on May 20, reports Square Enix's head Tweeter, Shinji Hashimoto.

According to the producer, the May date is solely for Japan and international dates/pricing will be confirmed later.

He also posted a video of FFIX running on PSP, just to rub it in.

Final Fantasy VII, VIII and IX are the only thing at the moment that really really tempt me to pick up a PS3. I might get a second hand one on the cheap so I can play through them again!

Steady on mate, I still haven't bought VII or VIII yet. Still, the music sounded great.

my modded ps2 has recently stopped reading the us FFIX,gutted.

what are the conversions like on the psn versions?
are they 60hz? widescreen? 480p? upscaled to 720p?

or are they the same old 50hz,4:3 versions in 480i?

if they're upscaled/converted well i may be tempted to by a ps3,ONLY if they're upscaled and run at full speed though.
