Ubisoft launches 'UbiShop' store

Ubisoft has launched UbiShop today, an online store through which customers can purchase both downloadable and box edition copies of the publisher's games.

Ubisoft is kicking off the launch with an Elite Echelon bundle offer, which gives you the PC versions of Splinter Cell, Chaos Theory, Double Agent and the recently release Splinter Cell Conviction for $76 (around £52), along with a host of other deals.

Although, as Joystiq notes, many of the games on UbiShop are more expensive than retailer prices. Which isn't ideal.

Far too expensive and I guess they still need to be permanently online. If it is a rental then it should be rental price. No Sale.

£34.99 for ac2 sorry I ain't that desperate. Bit of a cheek when it is £25 for other formats apart from pc

Maybe older games that you cant get in the shops nowadays is something I would download. That's the beauty of services like ITunes and how RATM got a christmas number one last year Smile

Add to that the unstable Ubisoft servers that one has to be connected to at all times via the internet to play, and there is no way I'd buy any of those games regardless of what the price might be.
