I do live in Australia, so I do care.
As backward as our leaders are on anything that doesn't pre-date Vietnam, there is some hope for us yet. The system is currently under review, and Michael Atkinson (the Australian equivalent of Jack Thompson - ratings here are a matter for the Attorney Generals, of which Atkinson is one, but a decision must be unanimous and he continually vetoes the change) has recently stepped down from his Attorney General position, so things may be looking up. Of course, that would be but a small victory is a fruitless war regarding our frankly pathetic technological framework. |
