StarCraft 2 Adults rating appealed in Korea

Blizzard has appealed the South Korean classification board's decision to rate StarCraft II an Adults Only game.

The Adults rating could of course be disastrous for Blizzard given the RTS's stupid popularity in the country, and so it's expectedly moved to modify the game and get a lower age sticker on the box.

Blizzard PR representative Bob Colayco told ShackNews that the company has already submitted a newer build of the game to "address the Game Ratings Board's concerns", while lead producer Chris Sigaty said this shouldn't delay the title beyond its targeted mid-year launch.

The South Korean ratings body said earlier this week that the title's level of violence, foul language and depiction of drug use meant it was unsuitable for players under the age of 18.

The original StarCraft has an active professional competition circuit, particularly in South Korea, where it's the star of the country's e-sports scene.

Drugs? I assume they mean stim packs.. how stupid.

I think if it was an 18 rated game there would be riots on the streets of South Korea and shady guys on corners selling the game from a suitcase.

Sick of the ratings. I live in Australia and can't get the same GTA as it has to be edited to get in the country. And Unreal tournament has been marked up for (you'll love this) STRONG SCIENCE!!! I wish they would stop this religious and Politically correct nonesense
