Director of the original Resident Evil movie, Paul W.S Anderson, has said that he wants to bridge the gap between games and movies, starting with Buck Rogers.
"In the future I want to be developing intellectual properties that will occupy both spaces simultaneously," said Anderson. "I've been actively involved in the gaming world for 15 years now, talking to developers ever since Mortal Kombat."
"Buck Rogers is something that's starting from ground zero right now, so that's definitely something that I would be considering doing. Really my approach to bridging the two medias is from 'Buck' onwards."
The Buck Rogers movie in question is scheduled for a 2011 release but there's yet to be any word of a developer agreeing to take on a videogame counterpart.
God help us! ...the only good movie he ever made was the brilliant Event Horizon (and in gaming terms, Dead Space) .....and maaaaaaybe a nod to the 1st Mortal Kombat ....other than that he is socially non-relevant and pointless for the gaming business .... Ignore!
His only film i liked was event horizon, good film actually, very thought provoking, he should of expanded his stage there and could probably of been a better director today, but no!
Would of loved to have seen George Romero's Resident evil though before this tit got involved with his z list lover Milla "whats acting?" jovovich! bitch!
"In the future I want to be developing intellectual properties that will occupy both spaces simultaneously,"
Would that be the 25th century then...cue titles
Paul Anderson is worse than the Bollmeister, because you know that Boll's films are going to be atrocious where as it hurts more on Anderson projects because he almost gets it right. permenantly snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
I agree with you guys about Event Horizon. I really liked that film. Can't really say I care about any of his others although I went to see Mortal Kombat at the cinema and enjoyed it quite a bit. Resident Evil has turned into a total joke now. Seeing a couple of hundred Alices is going to look so stupid. Hate that character.
