Super Mario Galaxy 2 features two-player mode

New screenshots reveals new mode...
A new screenshot of Super Mario Galaxy 2 has revealed an all-new two-player mode for the forthcoming adventure.

Taken from the official Japanese Mario Galaxy 2 website, the new screenshot shows one player controlling Mario and another taking charge of a Luma, the star-like creatures who made their debut in Super Mario Galaxy 2.

Little is currently known about this mode but we can see that Mario will be controlled with the Nunchuk and Remote and the second player will just need the Remote for the Luma.

It seems that Nintendo is planning to build on the success of New Super Mario Bros. Wii's co-op mode in Super Mario Galaxy 2.

What do you think of the new multi-player mode? Leave your thoughts below...

We need a little more information before we can really comment about the multiplayer. I am guessing using a Luma will be to help rather than hinder. Mario and Luigi together would be a royal pain in the ass I reckon.

It sounds identical to the 2-player mode which was in Mario Galaxy 1 then, where you could collect and shoot star bits at enemies, or at Mario to extend his jump (I think).

I agree, Ben, it's probably gonna be the same feature as the one that was included in the original Mario Galaxy.

Wonder whether CVG knew there was 2-player already in the first SMG.....

Not much of a 2 player in MG1. This will probably be a little more in-depth but how it will do that is yet to be revelled.

I'd like to have seen a full on co-op mode, Mario and Luigi, with the screen splitting if the two get to far apart - like the Lego Inde 2 game.
