L4D2 'The Passing' DLC out this week

Delayed add-on pack is days away from release
Left 4 Dead 2's first download pack, entitled 'The Passing', will be released this week, Valve has confirmed.

The pack was originally planned for release in March, but was recently delayed to a more vague "spring". Luckily the wait won't be as long as you may have feared, with Valve updating with its release plans for this week on the official blog.

The Passing will include a new weapon, game mode and zombie called "the infected survivor", as well as the addition of the four playable characters from the first game.

An exact date is due to be confirmed on the blog in the week, but expect the pack to hit XBL Marketplace before Friday, April 23.

Nice one! I've just gone back to L4D2 this weekend after a lengthy hiatus and it's still a blast!

Great news, I stopped playing L4D2 a while ago as all my mates went back to MW2 and we all got the 1000 Gamer Points on it. Now, we'll dig it out again and give it another go.

Been waiting for this for ages and it should be great Smile

I was worried it would be released in valve time which is close to the 5th of never.

The L4D blog has some details on the new achievements, with spoiler warnings.

It says there's a blog update due on Wednesday which will explain more. Hopefully we'll get a release date.

Can't wait. I haven't even gotten around to Vs on L4D2, mainly because when I started on L4D, I couldn't go back to the standard campaigns - they just seemed lacking.

Got the PC version the other week too. Even with my crappy graphics card it plays really well (albeit low res). I've found playing on steam much better than XBL though - really low pings, less quitters, better communication. I hate talking on xbl, but don't mind it on PC for some reason.
