God Of War III was the number one individual software SKU in the US during March, selling 1.1 million copies.
However, that figure was dwarfed by combined sales of Pokemon SoulSilver and HeartGold, which totalled 1.781 million units.
Elsewhere, it was a close run thing between Final Fantasy XIII and Battlefield: Bad Company 2, both of which released on Xbox 360 and PS3. Square's title came out on top, moving 1.322 million units across the two consoles, ahead of EA's FPS with 1.277 million units.
Four PS3 titles made the top ten, alongside two Xbox 360, two Wii and two DS games.
The NPD Group also said that Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has become the second bestselling game in US history after Wii Play.

Exclusivity in games doesn't make much sense for developers or consumers. I'm not a fan of "buy each console". I'd prefer "limited exclusivity" if it absolutely had to exist.
Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony make more money on game sales not hardware. Why shouldn't God of War III appear on the 360 or Halo 3 appear on the PS3 or Little Big Planet on the Wii?

becuase then the games would probably suck becuase they money would be more concentrated on porting rather than making a very well polished game, unless they take 4 years like square enix took. but halo on ps3 and LBP on wii would never happen becuase the developers are either really close to the console company or even owned by them. plus exclusives are healthy to show the what the console can do and there for sells the console otherwise it would all be one console which would be boring, simpler yes but boring
