Realtime World's promising online cops and robbers effort, APB has finally entered the beta stage - and we're offering CVG readers the chance to join the scuffle.
Once you've gotten your hands on a key enter it at APB sign-up page, with all the other details you'll need to access the game.
Once that's all done, you'll receive a confirmation e-mail. You're now free to download the client, 8GB, in preparation for the next play session, scheduled for this Sunday. You can do that by logging-in here.
If you've signed up and nothing's arrived, please make sure to check your spam filter for an e-mail from do_not_reply@mail-eu.realtimeworlds.com, and if you want a head start on finding out how to play APB, check out the Beginner's Guide section in the forums
vodoo - hence the reason they pushed the game's release back in the first place, they've only really been having the session groups for the past month a lot of improvements are happening...
As always betas/releaseday doesn't reflect the game in 6 months time, thats a habbit people have to break of judging a game 'as is' from a beta - if you don't like the game on day 1, don't dismiss it come back in 6 moths (or whenever they have a 'free weekend' on subbed games) to see if the game as imporved to suit your 'requirements' - theres a lot of titles that I dropped in on free weekends and have made me resub, even when i totally hated the directions the game took before.
I just got this all set to go for Sunday when I saw the file name APB Beta-EU. Anyone know if your cousins across the pond will be able to test APB? Hate to have just wasted a key.

They'll need a lot more than 6 months to fix this game. I never been in a beta with so many issues.
Wow, you don't know how long its taken me to finally find a beta key, this game is so god-damn amazing, its 8gb, takes a while to download, but its worth it, Amazing, Thanks CVG!
It's basically saying mine's invalid as well, at least it did for a while. I finally got past that and filled out the rest of the form and then it told me that there was an error completing the form. Hopefully it will be resolved soon.
I was having trouble accessing the account creation page only once could log into the website.
I managed to access it through defilter.co.uk proxy service to create my account but unfortunately haven't figured out how to then download the installer yet
P.s. got onto realworlds website finally P.P.s. anyone know if you can download the installer then the game, then move it onto a different machine?

It does say Beta-EU so I think it could very well be Europe only. You are required to state your country so they would highlight a clash if they found one. Also just try and see, that is of course if 8GB of potentially wasted bandwidth isn't a problem.
Well Thanks alot CVG!!! got my key and it worked! didnt even use a proxy site, i got the key clicked on link provided said i was from UK put fake number and such, and it said i was in! right now im downloading the game downloaded there client for i can install the hole thing it will take 12hours BUT CANT WAIT!!!
I've been on the beta for a few weeks now, infuriating that I've only been free to play on two of the scheduled sessions. But what I have played, despite the bugs, has been very promising.

I've got 2GB, but their system checks said I have 1.998GB sp won't be able to play. Still downloading it - thank god for 20Mb cable.
I really do need to get more RAM...
I applied through their website, but heard nothing so got a key through here. Although voodoo's comments make me slightly apprehensive about what I'm going to be playing
I tryed signing up so I changed the eu to na since I live in the U.S. and everything is right but, it is saying that the beta key is invalid "Failed to create the account. Please verify that the product key and email address are identical to the ones in the email we sent you. If the problem continues, please contact Customer Support at support@apb.com" can't find out why....
All you guys complaining about the beta "having issues" - do you actually bother reporting them or do you just turn off? Since finding those issues is the WHOLE POINT of a damn beta.
I reckon anyone not pulling their weight in a beta test deserves a few hours of lockdown with a big hairy redneck.
