Bungie's released some new details about the upcoming Halo Reach beta, which kicks off on May 3.
The goods come in the form of new screens of the beta's multiplayer maps and an interview with the game's online design leads.
"All four maps were chosen in order to test a specific selection of gametypes and team sizes," Bungie's Chris Carney told IGN. "Each map brings unique elements that we want to evaluate and hopefully contain enough variety to be appealing for the duration of the Beta.
"Sword Base and Powerhouse cover the Slayer, Headhunter, end of the spectrum, Overlook is perfect for the NT 1* ("Generator Defense") game type, and Boneyard is a great landscape custom built for Invasion."
He went on to say that Bungie's experience with 360 has enabled it to "make the maps a lot more detailed" than in previous Halo games, and that while there are plenty of open areas for battle, "fans of small, intense maps will not be disappointed with Reach".

I read the Ign article today, defo worth a butchers.
I'm more intersted in the big open maps where I can tear it up in the wonderful vehicles that Halo plays host to.
I really hope the Spartan laser is nerfed a bit for halo reach. That thing is my nemesis! Missile pods I can handle, but the only chance of surviving the laser is if its being weilded by someone with no thumbs.
Fear not mrPirtniw, I know how if feels to be completely inept with a weapon in halo 3. After nearly 2 and a half years of playing, I still cant get my head around the sniper rifle. I just cannot fathom how some people are so good with it.
Luckily, Halo reach will be rewarding all types of player - not just those with superhuman twitch killing skills. I love driving the warthog, and would like to think i'm pretty good at it, but there wasn't really any worthwhile reward for doing so in Halo 3.
