Split/Second DLC outed

First DLC pack given free for pre-orders
Split/Second's first DLC pack will be given for free to anyone who pre-order's the game from Play.com.

That's according to an advert in the latest issue of Edge magazine, which while confirming the offer gives no actual details on additional cars, tracks or attacks it may or may not add.

The ad's reference to the "first DLC pack" also suggests that we should expect more downloadable goodies for the racer at a later date.

Split/Second (full name - Split/Second: Velocity) is now officially due on May 21. Check out some tasty video footage, if you haven't already.

Nice, holding back content to "make" people pre-order Rolling Eyes

sick of DLC and all their antics with it.

only good one will be liberty city episodes... and that is more of a spin off. other than that, i can say i have never been happy with any of it which i have bought.

scumbag fleecing tactic if you ask me.

Sorry Asshopper but just how excactly is giving you something for free that other people will have to pay for a "scumbag fleecing tactic"

Surely thats a much better preorder bonus than a plastic batterang / T-shirt / Avatar crap?

Question

A bit behind there mate, that came out last year. Did you mean something else? Smile

I think the point is, that they aren't giving you something "extra" for free for pre-ordering, they are infact holding back content that could have / should have been included with every release, in an attempt to woo people into pre-ordering.

I'd also bet that said "exclusive" pre-order DLC will be release at a later date as a paid for download for the chumps who didn't pre-order.

As least with a crappy tee or iffy figure you are getting something that is at least a little exclusive.

its most likely some exclusive car liveries like play do with almost every racing game that comes out. Nothing to get p**sy about imo.

Who gives a monkeys, Blur is released the following week and if the MP Beta is anything to go by, its going to kick ass.
Perhaps they should be more concerned about getting a demo on XBOX Live/PSN and competing with Blur then ripping us off with DLC that should be available straight out of the box for everyone.
