Once again Japanese games bible Famitsu spilled the beans first, but Adriansang also live blogged the event and revealed further details on the collaboration and what it breaks down to is this:
Snake will be battling classic Monster Hunter adversaries and giant beasties like the Velociprey in the game and Peace Walker will also feature some of the classic tunes from the Monster hunter series, as well as guest appearances from those helpful furry felines, the Felyne.
A couple of unexpected weapons have also been placed at Snake's disposal with blatant product placements erm we mean tasteful merchandising tie-ups, including Doritos Taco flavour crisp health packs and Axe body spray recovery items.
Adriansang has some rather splendid pics of the big screen action and thanks to GameFront.de for the spot on the screens.
Hideo Kojima also promised a world tour in the grand style to promote the release of Peace Walker beginning on the game's Japanese release date of 29th April and continuing on to Asia, Europe and North America..
Here's a quick pop quiz for you: The MGS series has always featured some classic crossover, mash-up style behaviour, in MGS 4, it was Assassin's Creed.
How many others can you name? And are gaming mashups a good thing or just mutually backslapping fan service? Let us know what you think in the comments field below.
Snake vs Dinosaurs is a pretty awesome mash up. Is this a multiplayer mode or Bonus level or something? I can't imagine even Kojima coming up with this kind of mental plot twist in single player.
