LucasArts released two shots for the upcoming remake of Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge on the Monkey Island Facebook page.

LucasArts announced that the Monkey Island 2 Special Edition would be heading for PC, XBL and PSN in the summer early last month.

"The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition really resonated with gamers young and old thanks to its classic storyline and updated gameplay features," said LucasArts' President Darrell Rodriguez.

"We're adding even more great new features in this sequel and can't wait for classic Monkey Island fans and newcomers alike to experience perhaps the most beloved instalment in the franchise ever."

Guybrush doesn't look as rubbish as he did in the first game, backgrounds are as brilliant as they were in the first game (glad to see they've stuck faithfully to the original art and HD'd it - can't wait to play in 1080)!

I imagine the backgrounds were a lot easier to redo this time around as they were already painted! Supposedly directors commentary and a selection of control options... Sounds excellent to me.

I can't wait to play this on the iPhone. The first was great fun and well priced.

Would love to see a HD remake of Day of the Tentacle - that game made me LOLZ.

I think I can safely say we all can not wait for this. I'm actually more excited to play through this again than I am about pretty much anything else. Bring back the adventure game the thinking mans game.

Glad to see they're more faithfully emulating the original art this time. The main reason I've never purchased the remastered MI1 was the absolutely idiotic looking hairstyle they gave Guybrush. That... thing would just be far too distracting for the game to be enjoyable.

Now if only LucasArts would release a "Guybrush model update" patch for the first one... Wink
