Not only do I think that those screenshots look fairly rubbish, but having seen Hercules get his face mashed on GOWIII, I very much doubt it is as gruesome, either.
Splatterhouse was 'the' gore beat'em up back in the old Megadrive day, I wouldn't dismiss this game so quickly, it may not be as good as God of War/Ninja Gaiden/Dante's in the gore front, but this game did set the groundwork for them today.
its being made by the guys that did afro samurai. It wasn't perfect but did show a lot of promise.
I loved splatterhouse on the Megadrive so i'm gonna give this the benefit of the doubt. we just have to hope that Namco don't give us another Golden Axe Beast Rider. I'm not sure my childhood memories could take it.

Golden Axe was never particularly good. I remember beating it in the arcade, but I'll never understand how it got to be such a classic - there were so many other games that were better at the time.
Splatterhouse was good though. If they're going to start doing some remakes - how about my old favourite, Bad-Dudes Vs. Dragoninja?
Looks nice and violent. I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that Julie Peasegood is doing the voice acting on this one.
Yeah, and Alan Titchmarsh plays the lead protagonist....
Yeah I heard that as well. Apparently he's got this special move where he bamboozles the enemy with outrageously under researched claims and then he decapitates them with a spade. I also heard Peasegood's character can impale enemies with a giant dildo.

Oh, so they took the story from one of Titchmarsh' erotic novels then?
Yeah apparently the story is loosely based on Titchmarsh's erotic novella "The Gardener's Hoe". It's a gripping tale of a love triangle between a TV gardener, an out of work actress and a woolly jumper.
I don't wanna give away any spoilers but the narrative is intertwined with deep subtexts that intelligently deal with a plethora of modern issues from female ejaculation to computer games violence.

That was so awesome!! When I've watched certain movies and someone is in a fight for their life I never understood why they only hit the bad guy once and then run off. Its like "Pound his face into mush, wtf are you doing?" I was laughing my ass off when it happened in GOW3.
As for Splatterhouse the screenshots aren't doing it for me. I'm gonna have to see some gameplay first. Did everyone hear Manhunt 3 is coming as a PS3 exclusive??

Blasphemy, complete blasphemy!
Golden Axe was a brilliant co-op game in the arcades with spot on gameplay and a real "one more go" addictiveness about it.
Was up there with Double Dragon and Final Fight for classic arcade gaming at its best!!
