Batman: Arkham Asylum 2 to star Robin

... at least, that's according to an IMDB listing
Batman sidekick Robin will play an important role in Warner Bros' Arkham Asylum 2, according to a new casting listing.

IMDB lists Vincent Martella as voicing the character in the game.

Martella has had unpromising acting roles in Role Models and Deuce Bigalow: European Gigalo - but his turn in Chris Rock sitcom Everyone Hates Chris and voiceover in Final Fantasy XIII (Hope Estheim) fill us with more glee.

Interestingly, IMDB also lists Martella as playing 'Young Jason Todd/Robin' in upcoming animation Batman: Under The Hood.

The information also says that Two-Face will play a role in Arkham Asylum 2 - and will be voiced by Bruce Greenwood.

Greenwood has played roles in major Hollywood movies such a I-Robot, Capote and 2009's Star Trek.

Mark Hamill is again listed as playing The Joker, with Kevin Conran voicing Batman. The post also says that Harley Quinn will return, along with Commissioner Gordon.

IMDB says the release date of the game will be 2010.

Rocksteady boss Sefton Hill told CVG last week that Batman: Arkham Asylum 2 would "not let fans down".

It wouldn't surprise me, I must admit - although, I do think you can take this with a pinch of salt until someone at either Rocksteady or Warners confirms it.

I think most would rather Nightwing was included over Robin - I'd rather both made a cameo, personally.

At least the villains are mostly still under-wraps - we all knew Two-Face was going to be making an appearance, but I wouldn't mind being left guessing about the others for a while yet.

My sympathies to you CVG since you wanted Nightwing over Robin in your list of what you wanted. Crying or Very sad But rock on Two-Face!!! It will be nice to see how they make him look after some drastic remakes before such as Harley, it has to make you wonder what he will looks like (except that he’ll have two sides to his face of course.) Very Happy

Why did they have to resurrect Jason Todd? - I just don't understand that, I always thought that he was one of the only comic characters that should never come back from the dead (along with Uncle Ben etc).

No doubt it's made my 'Death in the Family' comics less valuable too.

I really want to see Robin, Penguin, Cat Woman etc... The team really are hammering the series a new one and I really congratulate them. Keep up the excellent work.

As long as some woman doesn't go ' your not batman ' i see no problems

Robin needs a f**king good makeover if they intend to include him. In any case, if Barbara Gordon is Oracle then surely Dick Grayson should be Nightwing?

If it's the Jason Todd version then surely he should be Red Hood in this chronology? That would make an interesting dynamic in this gothic style of game. Jason Todd as *Robin* was s**t.

If he is going to be playing the Jason Todd Robin perhaps it will be for flashbacks for before he was killed and flashbacks to it happening maybe induced by the scarecrow with the red hood making an appearance later in the game.

robin's not as cheesy as he used to be to be honest

What about Azrael making a cameo?

Not 100% sure what he's been up to in the comics, but I always liked the design of his costume. Plus, Jean-Paul is a real bad-ass.

Jason Todd is an odd choice, but one I'm ok with. I'm just sat here hoping the 3rd installation will have a nice co-op component to the main game...

If there is a Robin, it's got to be Tim. When you consider the fact that the likes of Oracle, Bane and Harley Quinn are in there, the time-line points to Tim more than the others (that is, if they are truly following any particular time-line - they've never really specified, as such).

Jason Todd could be in there, but surely as the Red Hood? (must admit, I do like that 'flashback' idea from evilvodkaman)

I'm still not convinced about co-op in the main game - would it detract from a single player experience?

Mind you, who knows what the 3rd installation would comprise of? - I just hope Rocksteady keep 'em coming! (and give us smoke grenades!)

Maybe he may just play a small role such as Scarecrow making you fight him in a flashback/demented vision???

My first thought at reading Robin being included in AA2 was one of horror. But Rocksteady did such an amazing job with the first game and the way the characters were portrayed, i have the utmost faith it will turn out ok
Logiebear on 9 Mar '10
Tim Drake is a must. No Jason Todd please, I'm not sure it would make sense timeline wise. Robin isnt the camp character from the 60's anymore. Tim Drake as Robin is awesome and hes doing great as Red Robin aswell searching for Bruce.

I dont want him playable in the main story but it would be great to have more variation for the challenge rooms.

"Robin's queer" is all I have to say on this matter.

He's currently a zombie in the Blackest Night limited series, last seen ripping people's hearts out.
