505 Games announced a new American football from developer NaturalMotion yesterday and have now released screens to boot.
505 describes Backbreaker as 'a technologically groundbreaking and ultra accessible American football title. Backbreaker will boast the most realistic player movement seen in a game of its type.
'Utilising its famous euphoria engine, NaturalMotion is able to bring a revolutionary in-game animation system to the on field action, meaning no two tackles will ever be alike.'
Backbreaker will also offer intuitive 11-on-11 gameplay which new American Football fans will be able to pick up easily, while more experienced players will be able to increase the complexity of the moves and strategies available.
Backbreaker started life on the Iphone and Ipod Touch as 'Backbreaker: Tackle Alley' and looks to capitalise on the popularity of that game.
The press release says: "The Tackle Alley game for iPhone includes a link for customers to directly pre-order Backbreaker for Xbox or PS3 from GAME, marking the first time an iPhone game has facilitated pre-sales for a full console version of a video game."
Backbreaker is set to be released on May 28 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and will be stocked exclusively by GAME.
Seen the tech demo stuff of this, and it looks absolutely incredible. Also got the iPhone app which is pretty good too. A sports game to keep an eye on, mos def.
It's not going to be licensed, thats the point, you create youre own team and stuff. This is old CVG, theres already tonnes of videos out on the net. The QB looks horrible when he moves. The only thing i'm anywhere near impressed with is the dynamic nature of the tackles, they look good.
Didn't EA had the Euphoria engine, or something equivalent for years now. I remember they advertise this feature extensively on one of the older version of Madden.
