Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami has explained his decision to develop his new shooter, Vanquish, primarily on PlayStation 3.
According to the designer, working on Sony's box first will help avoid dodgy PS3 ports as seen in Platinum's other action effort, Bayonetta.
"The team know less about making games for PS3 than Xbox 360, so we thought the sensible thing to do was to make the game on PS3 first then move it over to Xbox," Mikami told PSM3.
"If we can get Vanquish to a certain standard on PS3, we can make Xbox the same."
Mikami revealed this morning that he is to form his own studio. Read more about the game - and see screenshots - in this Vanquish details roundup.
It wasn't the bayonetta port that bothered me but the game itself, i was actually glad when i finished it cause it just dragged on and on and got boring, and the 5000th plus shots of her crotch, i mean seriously?! made me hate the game alil more, you japs really need to see a real women naked!
No it means that you might get a PS3 version equal to the 360 version for once!
Makes no odds to me i never buy a multi platform release for the PS3 over pricing and under supported online functionality will always be more important to me than trying to count the polygans and pressing my face into textures to see if they crack!
i really don't see it matters which platform leads. if you go with the 360 you still have to optimise for ps3 at the end. if you with ps3 you have to optimise at the beginning. the ps3 is a sod to develop for and there's no way of getting round it. clearly some developers make a good fist of it though.
Get some more experence working on the PS3 then! So instead of making a game that pushes the PS3's power, they are going to make a game that works on PS3 then port it to 360 (just like Burnout was).
I don't think that the 360 version will be gimped in anyway, it'll probably be identical to the PS3, but it p**ses me off that they can't be bothered to push the more powerful hardware like in FFXIII.
the danger of this is that some content might be cut for the 360 version, as it doesn't have blu ray, e.g. Lost Planet 2.
You need to actually read the Capcom statement on this.
CVG misquoted those comments to stir up a debate. Capcom did not actually use the words 'content was cut because of DVD capacity' they gave a whole list of reasons, including development time and DLC.
Grow up. These comments are clearly from naive youngsters. Bayonetta was excellent on PS3. The story was good, the characters are well developed. If you dont appreciate art and love FPS and God of War then I can understand how you would hate Bayonetta. Enjoy your simple minded games of garbage, youngsters. Yakuza>all

Number 1 in what then? And yes i would like some fool please, normally I wouldn't in wintery times as it's more a Summer pudding but what the hell, it's St. Patricks day after all
After the dodgy bayonetta port, it makes sense to develop the new game on ps3. As long as it doesn't lower the quality of the 360 version, then there's no problem.
I think there's a few other developers who are deciding to develop with the ps3 in mind. The things they have to do to try to get the ps3 version up to scratch
Zero by name zero by nature. And its the opinion of a hell of a lot of people and seein as ive had a ps3 i speek from experience when i say that its trash. BOOM headshot. get over it freak

so 360 by name, 360 by nature! see what i did there?! does explain why you are a complete and utter, absolute P***k! good talk m8!
IF and that's a big IF - developers actually develop a game for the PS3 that utilizes a large amount of its processing power and takes advantage of Blu-ray then the Xbox360 cannot compete. Its been proven time and time again with releases such as MGSIV, Uncharted and Uncharted2, KillZone2, Final Fantasy XIII (which looks incredible on PS3 and just not good enough on Xbox360) and now, God of War III.
I would have thought that all of this nonsensical Bull**** about the Xbox360 being able to create better graphics, etc. would have dissipated by now. The fact is that it can't and no amount of hype from fanboys or M$ can change that....
