RUSE beta arrives on Steam next week

Public beta open to all starting March 9th
Ubisoft has announced it will launch the public beta for upcoming RTS RUSE via Steam on March 9th.

The tabletop themed war-game will be open to everyone with a Steam account and follows on from a VIP beta in December.

"Public Beta will be available to everyone on Steam on March 9th!" commented Aymeric Evennou, Ubisoft community developer, adding: "everyone is invited to play! All you need is a Steam account. Jump in!"

I've been looking forward to RUSE for some time now and am eager to try it out, between this, Supreme Commander 2 and StarCraft 2 it's going to be a good year for RTS fans.

Does it need a permanent connection to play single player? If so I am out.
