Castlevania Lords of Shadow shots in

Beautiful environments, disgusting creatures
Konami's just released some new screenshots for Castlevania Lords of Shadow, which was first announced at E3 last year.

Lords of Shadow will mark a new beginning for the Castlevania series, with developer Mecury Steam working with Konami's Kojima Productions, led of course by the mighty Hideo Kojima.

A press release says that the title is an, "incredibly ambitious and ground-breaking title that mixes stunning combat elements, with a fully interactive 3D realm populated by all manner of undead and inhuman denizens."

This is the first real update we've had since August last year. Hopefully we'll get another one before it releases at the end of the year.

Looking very nice. Almost has a Tolkien feel to it. Hope the action lives up to the visuals. Will make or break it for the whip mechanics.

This looks amazing. I agree with phathead1, does have a Tolkien/Fable feel to it which is always awesome.

Really enjoyed the DS series of Castlevania games so hopefully this'll follow suit. Doesn't quite look like it fits in the same vein but I'm hopeful if Kojima-san is on the case, I mean the textures, lighting effects and the attention to detail are all stunning. Good stuff, hope to see more of this one.

Once again, production of Lords of Shadow is led by Dave Cox. Mr. Kojima is more like a supervisor of some kind. Probably a contact between Mercury Steam and Konami HQ.
