Final Fantasy XIII on Xbox 360 will outsell the PlayStation 3 version by 2:1.
That's according to findings from MyVoucherCodes, which claims its website has received more than 250,000 unique searches for Final Fantasy XIII on the Xbox 360, compared to 120,000 searches for the game on the PS3 since February 1st this year.
"The Final Fantasy series has always been a huge draw for Sony, since its debut on the PlayStation in the form of Final Fantasy VII," says Mark Pearson, managing director of MyVoucherCodes.
"For Microsoft to now be sharing and in fact beating the interest for the PS3 version must be worrying Sony chiefs, who must be wondering just how to steal the march back, if it is at all possible. Our Christmas sales data showed that Xbox 360s were outselling PlayStation 3s three to one in the holiday period, a fact which seems to be presenting itself here as consumers show more interest in the Xbox 360 title."
Square is already confident that Final Fantasy XIII will sell well, so it won't be worrying too much about these findings, we shouldn't think. The question is, which version are you getting?

Having watched some gameplay vids last week, I now regret cancelling my pre-order, as I thought it looked good. I'm just waiting for Digital Foundry to compare the two versions. If the gameplay segments of the 360 one hold up to the PS3, I'll buy it for the 360 (what can I say, I love increasing my gamerscore). If it doesn't, then the PS3 version it is.

I think the important question here is, who really cares! If you only own a PS3 you'll get it for that and surprisingly if you only own a Xbox 360 you'll by it for that. If you happen to own both you can pick and choose which version you'll get and your choice won't make any difference to any one else. I don't think many people are to bothered which version they get as long as you want the game you'll get it. As for buying it for the PS3 because its always been a Sony game is a pointless idea too as its first Six outings came out on Nintendo machines and three even came out on the Bandai Wonderswan.

Besides that, since July last year until, well, I finished work yesterday:
-customers have shown alot more interest in Playstation 3 than X-Box 360 -we've sold many more PS3's than 360's -had much more interest in FF XIII for PS3 than the 360 version. -actually have pre-orders for FF XIII on PS3 and none on 360.
Those facts in themselves show that the exact opposite will happen when Final Fantasy XIII launches a week tomorrow.
Oh, also I own all three consoles, enjoy gaming on all three, I've even bought a few more 360 games lately and I'll be purchasing Final Fantasy XIII - Collectors Edition, on PS3. One, I feel it's more at home on a Sony console than a Microsoft one, two, I don't wanna have to swap discs, and three the graphics are a little more impressive on the PS3 edition.
I disagree - I think the association that Sony has with the FF series combined with the fact that the PS3 version is superior (you can compare this yourself, watch any of teh Japanese trailers and compare it to the newest 'International trailer', which uses 360 version footage, the difference is easiest to see on the scene where Hope is shouting at Snow, on the International trailer it has a poor framerate, less detail and unnatural colours), will make people choose the PS3 version. Plus, a lot of people bought the PS3 for this (before E3 2008, obviously), so they'll want to make the most of their purchase.

I can't see it selling better on 360, despite the fact that myself and two friends have pre-ordered the 360 version, despite all of us owning both consoles.
I think it's fair to say the majority of those that own both will probably plump for the PS3 version, and as others have said, a fair amount of people probably bought their PS3 because this was previously exclusive to the Sony platform.
A rather flimsy source to be quoting for predicted sales of any game. Must be a slow news day. Particularly given that the data would be significantly distorted by the FF XIII 360 bundle that can be bought and everyone looking for a cheap console bundle will be picked up in that search too.
If this is right, then there is a simple reason, 360 owners, or people that own both and choose the 360 version, are idiots. This game will be a big disappointment to most people, who will probably be buying it without researching their waste of £40, because if they get it they would have ignored almost every critic there is.

Or, more precisely, people will make a decision on which console they'd prefer to play it on. For myself, and a couple of my friends, we prefer gaming on the 360. Sure, the graphics won't be as crisp, and it'll have 720p cutscenes instead of 1080p scenes, but I'm sure I can live with that. That's generally what you expect these days with a port - it's generally going to look a bit crisper on the lead platform.
On the other hand, if it turns out the game is worse in playability terms, or that there is more content on the PS3 version, I will of course be cancelling my 360 pre-order and ordering the PS3 version.
I'll be waiting for the inevitable DigitalFoundry face off to see quite what the differences will be, but I very much doubt I'll be disappointed with the 360 port. As long as the game itself isn't cack of course

I played the original Crystal Chronicles on GameCube with a few friends, using GBAs as controllers. While they all seemed to really enjoy it, I thought it was very shallow and incredibly boring. I haven't touched another CC game since.
It doesn't stand a chance of selling more on 360 as its already sold nearly 2million on the ps3 already in japan.and anyone who has got both a 360 and PS3 is surely going to buy thePS3 version as its superior. You have only 1 disk so no disc swapping, the sound isn't compressed so u have hd audio, and the screenshot comparisons on vgchartz show that the graphics are blantantly noticable better on the ps3 version. I know which one ill be buying anyway the PS3 version
