The first Super Mario Galaxy 2 hands-ons will be with us by March 24 at the latest, if the Next Month page in the latest NGamer magazine is anything to go by.
"Finally! We go hands-on with the sequel the galaxy's been gagging for," the magazine teases for its next issue, which goes on sale next month.
"More than 90% of what you'll see in Galaxy 2 is brand new," Mario daddy, Shigeru Miyamoto told us last year. "I'd say closer to 95, maybe even 99%. One of the new things was the inclusion of Yoshi, and also the use of the drill to open up and drill through stages."
We can't wait. We will of course have all the details from the upcoming hands-ons as they arrive.
I really enjoyed Mario Galaxy. Very few games can make an adult man grin like a fool by how cute they are.
Saying that, I didn't have the patience to finish the first one and am totally uninterested in a second version.
Why bother to rehash something that is going to be similar to the original in such a relatively short time? If they added online multi-player - now that would be great but unlikely.

Just because your too inept to play it doesnt mean other people didnt enjoy playing Galaxy. I finished it with both Mario and Luigi and looking forward to Galaxy 2.
The first SMG was a great game - one of, if not the best game of 2007. Provided they do evolve it, and not just give us more of exactly the same, I've got really high hopes for this one. I don't think it's a particularly short time between releases either. It'll be three years since the first came out by the time this gets released, and while that's not all that long by "full Mario" games standard, it's more of a gap than we've had for Uncharted, CoD, ME and Bioshock, to name a few.
There's enough in the video already shown to tell me this is gonna be as good as the first game. And that was just pure brilliance from start to finish.

I thought the first was pretty good. Not my fave Mario of all time. I am actually having more fun with NSMBWii. Maybe because I get to play 4 players. It is such good fun and there are lots of laugh out loud moments when the s**t hits the fan in multiplayer.
Miyamoto did say there was a lot he wanted in the first that he didn't have time to put in so with that in mind, I reckon I will have more fun with the second. It was still a great addition to my collection. How could I miss ANY Mario game really.
Super Mario Galaxy stands as my favourite game of all time, so I'm incredibly excited about the prospect of any new footage of Galaxy 2. Even more of the same would be enough to satisfy me: the original was almost flawless in every respect.

And inept at playing Mario? I wouldn't say inept more like got bored. Considering every Mario game is the same game and I got bored of doing the same thing over and over and over again.
Collect stars Jump on enemies fight Bowser Lather, rinse repeat as needed. There are just about a million other games better than this toss.
And the last time I checked EVERYONE could write their opinion on whatever they pleased. If you don't like mine on a game I didn't like then shut up and get over it.

It took me a while to adapt to Super Mario Galaxy, as I didn't enjoy running on the underside of planets. However, I got used to it and I can honestly say it's the most thrilling, intense, adrenaline-pumping game I've played. Getting all the stars is mega intense (same with Sunshine and 64).
Now, I'm not too excited about a sequel, but I'm looking forward to it.

I loved Mario Galaxy I'm actually playing it again and remembering just how good it really is. As for the comments made by Marlon everyones entitled to their opinion really but what I dont get is the fact he states what everyone has come to expect from Mario games. Allow me to break it down if you dont know. Peach gets kidnapped by the Bowser gang Mario goes to save her on his way he gets up to his usual shananigans of jumping on enemies and collecting stars if you dont know that I dont know what rock you've been hiding under. Some may see it as repetitive but for me and I'm sure plenty of others Nintendo always find a way of making it feel fresh. I mean Mario 64 was different to Mario Sunshine, which is different to Mario Galaxy which in turn is different to New Super Mario Bros and they're all great games. So to say Galaxy is a rubbish game puts you in a small minority, a very very small minority. Sorry
We get used to calling something rubbish when it in fact, isn't rubbish at all. Horses for courses and all that. Epic for me is Epic Fail for others. I tend to say something is not my bag as opposed to terrible... unless it's guiness. That stuff tastes like liquid dirt!

I think the initial point Timmylove was trying to make was that why bother to make a comment on a game you clearly don't like if you really truly don't care for it then you wouldn't waste your own time posting a comment. ( Just so you know I have no problems with you disliking SMG)
I don't really like the God Of War games but I don't go posting slandering comments on forums against it out of respect to that particular games fan base your first post was just to provoke a reaction nothing more nothing less.
