God of War 3 director praises Dante's Inferno

"The more people that are making [these games] the better," says Asmussen
Is God of War 3 director Stig Asmussen out for a fisty-cuff with the guy who decided to rip off God of War for Dante's Inferno? No. in fact, he's rather complimentary of EA's brawler.

"We've been intrigued about Dante's Inferno. This is my favourite genre, and the more people that are making [these games] the better," Asmussen told the UK Official PlayStation magazine.

"And this is a really rich story they're building on, it's very interesting. The day that the demo came out we were trying to download it on PSN at midnight. We all wanted to see it," he added.

We were surprised at how good EA's effort was, too. Read our Dante's Inferno review to see why we gave it a 9/10 score.

It's nice to hear something like this after a week of War between competitors within the gaming industry (mainly between Sony and Microsoft). So here's hoping the comments will just be as 'peaceful'.

I know I'm asking a lot, you guys always wanna fight and make lists!

I wouldn't be surprised if Bill Gates privately has a PS3, a Wii and an iPhone at home - and enjoys them also!

A geek is what geek does and it is probably just marketing departments stirring things up for column space Rolling Eyes

God of War and Dante's Inferno aren't my kind of game but I am interested to see how much more God of War III pushes the PS3.

And here I thought this speech would be delivered with a sympathetic, condescending little smile. "We're so happy other developers are making this kind of game"

Under no circumstance should Dante's Inferno have been given a score of 9/10 Confused

Under no circumstance should your post be taken seriously.

yea dantes inferno is good but not 9/10 good.
maybe a 8, a 8.5 if your being generous.
i still think darksiders is the best game to release this year so far.
bayonetta sucked and dantes inferno was not as good as i was hoping so darksiders filled in the gap.
the combat was really good but the puzzles destroyed it for me.
there is nothing more infuriating than spending 15 minutes completing a puzzle to have to do another one the second your done.
10 minutes of combat, 20 minutes of puzzles, 5 minutes of cut scenes.
rinse and repeat.

That's cool man and Kudos to them. Nice to see other developers taking notice of hard work that goes into bringing us the awesome gaming experiences we all love.
