FIFA fans break Guinness World Record

Joe Embling joins 11 others to play for 24 hours
A Swindon FIFA fanatic has entered in the record books for playing the game non-stop for 24 hours.

Joe Embling, 18, was one of 12 FIFA fans chosen to take part in the Guinness World Record-breaking challenge in London's Victoria station.

The event was organised by Stryxa.com, which gives FIFA 10 fans the chance to compete online using PS3 or Xbox 360. Members can pit their skills against each other in the league for a £10,000 prize fund.

Embling told This Is Wiltshire: "I am very happy to have been selected. I couldn't wait to take part.

"I'm a massive FIFA fan and got plenty of sleep in before the event and now I'll be bringing a Guinness World Record back home with me."

Joe was one of 12 players selected to take part in the challenge, all at the same time and playing the gaming marathon for 24 hours.

Neville Langston, founder of Stryxa.com, said: "This is the first time anyone has brought FIFA players together into an official international network of divisional leagues, offering everyday people the opportunity to prove their passion for football and gaming in one level playing field.

"Like the World Cup, it is perhaps the greatest test of tactical prowess, team management and flair for the game that will deliver a Stryxa league winner.

"It's all about players proving their metal in an official capacity and that is why it is so exciting to celebrate our launch with the setting of an official World Record."

Stryxa FIFA 10 Leagues are open to anyone over the age of 14 with a PS3 or XBOX 360.

No doubt they are not the first or millionth person to do this. Anyone that has attended an I-Series of LAN already has this record Smile
