Steam downtime planned

Valve has sent word that Steam will be undergoing a little downtime for some software maintenance.

"Beginning at 6:00 pm Pacific time Thursday February 4th, we will be performing software maintenance on some Steam servers," said the dev. "We expect the resulting downtime to last three hours at most, putting the end of the window at 9:00 pm Pacific time.

"Some Steam services will be offline during this time. Affected services will include the Steam Community, in-game matchmaking or lobbies, downloading games from Steam content servers, and making purchases from the Steam store. Games that do not rely on Steam matchmaking services should remain playable."

Valve says it'll work "to make this downtime as short as possible."

That's about 2am to 5am here. I don't know about you but I don't think I'll be looking for online games at that time.

Umm me neither! Seems odd though I wonder why they have all of a sudden decided to do this after not doing anything for a while.

thanks badgerpog for converting that into the time zone we live in, wtf CVG?

Of course this renders the article pointless, people in this time zone are going to be asleep and there's no news about what they're updating.
