Platinum Games and Resident Evil creator, Shinji Mikami have finally unveiled their next game; Vanquish. And we're excited.
A live-action(ish) trailer appeared on the internet early this morning, showing a rather generic super soldier fighting against futuristic invaders in New York City.
The official blurb says simply, "when America comes under attack by an overwhelming force, it's up to you to make a stand."
The publisher behind the game hasn't been officially announced, but seeming as Platinum signed a multi-game deal with Sega, it's probably them.
For your information though, this is Mikami's first game since the mighty Resident Evil 4, which was one of the best games of the last generation. So you should be as excited as us.
I was just about to get excited about this game after seeing the trailer but then i remembered the last time I saw a "super solider in suit trailer" and look how that one turned out - HAZE!! So just going to put this one under maybe for the time being.
I was hoping for a survival horror type game. This all looks a bit to much like Lost planet and other mech games to me. But I have faith in this guy, RE4 is one of my favourite games ever.
please god tell me its not another glorified fps that focuses more on the multiplayer than the actual story itself, resident evil 4 had a brilliant story, great production values and innovative gameplay. So please tell me Shinji Mikami is joining the flock and creating another fps
Hmmm... a very good quality cgi cutscene from capcom! Could be worth a look- though it looks a wee bit generic to me- but I'll happily be proved wrong.
But farkin' hell that suit's fugly! It looks like it's got a snout or something. Maybe a stormtrooper got it on with Asimo?
Looks a hell of a lot like a 3D Shadow Complex to me. Not a bad thing, by any stretch of the imagination.
"Shadow complex" reminds me of the SUPER GREAT super metroid and symphony of the night which the quality never comes close to. Its a good game but i hate how it disgustingly sets itself up for a sequel.
