People who know loads more about game development than us have uncovered the letter 'PS3' in the PC source code. Could it be?
"A cracked piece of Mass Effect 2 source code seems to retain two-lines of code retaining to the apparent existence of a Playstation 3 version of the game," reports Push Square.
Source code from the PC version of the game (apparently) reads:
I think it was just early programming that got stuck there. I highly doubt it would go on PS3, I mean, look at Microsoft's financial power! It might be Bioshock all over again though.
i agree with gysanuck its probz early code but it would be great for ps3 as it is one of the best games this gen. i dont think this game would suit the commom ps3 owner as im sorry to repeat myself but it is a very chavvy console and unless shepard gets some trackies and the normandy renamed the vauxell normandy and has a burberry paintjob i dont see this selling well on ps3.
Dont believe it! whats with the "?" teleporting around the code its not in a logical/consistent place looks fake code wouldn't work. Because even if the "?" was because they had to decode the code it would still be in a consistent pattern/place not random! my 2c

How exactly do you come to the conclusion that the ps3 is a "chavvy" console, most "chav's" are dole scrounging little cretins who couldnt afford a ps3 unless they stole it from someone else, if any console is "chavvy" its the 360 as all the "chavs" i know have them and all the serious gamers i know have ps3's and gaming pc's.
On topic seeing mass effect 2 on my ps3 would be very welcome though i would hope they would also release the first game so we can import our characters.
You should only have one sovereign to play Mass Effect.
I'd be surprised if ME2 *didn't* eventually get a PS3 released, but I'd be more surprised if ME1 *did*.
It plays like a 2007 game and by modern standards has a number of inherent "flaws" and to have 2010/2011 PS3 gamers having to play through 40 hours of "inferior" game before getting to the meat of ME2 would seem counter productive. Plus aren't there still rights issues w MS for ME1?

If they took the time to polish ME1 up, it would be fine IMO. I've got one more ME1 character I want to max out and it doesn't bother me that I have to play the first game again.
I doubt the first game will make it though, as Bioware have stated they made the sequel with newcomers in mind.
I doubt it'll make the ps3, not impossible though.
If it does turn up they'll be a long wait and as we've seen with the gta IV dlc now appearing on pc and ps3, i think the long wait will diminish the appeal of the game.
I think I'll wait for more info before I start jumping for joy, while it would be nice for ps3 owners (of which I'm soon to be one) to get me2 I think it's early days yet, common sense tells me it's still unlikely (or up in the air).
If you're a gamer, and not a fan-boy,you'll own all the current generation consoles. Therefore whatever format a game does or doesn't appear on isn't a problem.
Who knows, if this is even genuine, however both would fit on a blue ray and would be great. Would never be so stupid to support m$ and buy a 360 for it though, And Dorian , why you .....(shakes fist in air)

He always says this. How he got this conclusion is beyond me. Chavs will go towards the cheapest option, not the opposite. There were plenty on Live when I used to play on there to back this up...
On topic, it would be a good game to have on the PS3 but like some have said, if it ends up like the Bioshock scenario then it really help the console

Agreed re the polishing up. I've already bought ME1 four times (SAAAAD - 2nd hand purchase, Limited Edition, Platinum Edition, PC version via Steam) and I'd be very happy to buy it again as a "redux" version rebuilt using the ME2 engine. Not going to happen but a nice thought.
And yeah, as I've said in that thread, a shame that its probably not coming to PS3, but not exactly an earth shattering surprise...
