Civilization Facebook beta delayed

Testing phase of social Civ due later than expected
Take-Two has said that the beta for Sid Meier's Civilization Network isn't expected to hit until sometime in June.

Back in October creator Sid Meier revealed, "I wanted to let you know we'll soon be looking for beta testers to help us develop a unique new way to play Civilization." That was October. 2009. The beta isn't now expected until July 2010, eight months after the announcement of 'soon'.

Civilization Network will allow you to join up with friends to create the world's most powerful, richest, smartest, or "just plain coolest civilization." Most importantly though, it'll be free to play.

You can coordinate strategies, share technology, lobby friends to form new governments, manage and grow your cities, spy on your enemies... all the things that made Civ the gaming form of crack in the first place.

Thanks Variety.

I hope the delay will make this a better game than the standard 'games' on facebook (Mafiawars et al) and if so i can forgive them if the end result is a fraction of the pc version.

Civilization Network is going to be a great game. I am interested in seeing how it fairs over time.
