Rebellion keen on AvP motion control support

Brutal shooter "certainly could" get Natal/'Arc' support, says producer
Alien Vs Predator senior producer Dave Brickley has told CVG he's keen on the idea of adding motion control support to the gory shooter when Sony and Microsoft's Natal and Sony's PS3 'wand' (aka Arc) arrive later this year.

When asked if AvP might be updated to support motion control similarly to the motion-enabled updates of LittleBigPlanet and Resident Evil 5 on PS3, Brickley replied: "Yeah, it certainly could."

He went on to say he was "excited" by the new tech. "Like any gamer I'm excited about the prospect of adding a new dimension to the medium. The Wii showed it can add something totally different that's not just tacked on," he said.

"What do you think, would people like to actually rip out someone's spine with their bare hands?" asked Brickley.

Check back in the next few days to catch the full interview with Dave Brickley discussing why AvP isn't a "me too" shooter", and the "fundamental issue" with motion control.

Would prefer AKA Arc over Natal. I'd rather use a device to aim as opposed to moving my arms around. If they could nail the controls to match some of the Wii's best exampled FPS's then it should be something exciting.

Hopefully more developers will pick up on this idea and fully utilise it, a nice RTS would benifit such as device over a joypad and launch them into the console market.

i see where your coming from starsail but i think natal would be better for playing as the predator as it would be using your hands and it would feel awkward with arc lol but would be good for controlling the alien lol and natal is a dream come true for natal fans using your hands to control your units and shouting orders at your troops lol i predict a halo wars 2 lol

Impresise, clumsy, ackward and tiring controls over one that actually works flawlessly? No thanks. I really don't understand why console manufacturers are trying to copy Nintendo's gimmick, when the present control scheme is pretty much bang on. Gaming is supposed to be relaxing, not fustrating and tiresome, or artificially making the game harder than it actually is. I've been using joypads for well over 25 fun years of gaming and I see no reason to change right now. Think I'll stick to playing it the way it was meant to be played(with a pad)after a 40+ hour week. Thats my opinion anyway.
