Tony 'the critics are wrong' Hawk is on Twitter again... this time not to say how brilliant his not-so-brilliant motion-sensitive board controller is, but to reveal that developer Robomodo is working on its next project.
"Just met with robomodo about our next project," tweeted Hawk, who goes on to say: "it's already much better than I expected." Well that's reassuring then.
Hawk hit headlines for slating critics for their not-so-complimentary reviews of Tony Hawk: Ride. "Most snarky critics had their minds set before ever seeing/playing the game," he claimed.
"I don't agree with people who say the board's not responsive. I think that they're just not giving it a fair shake. And I think a lot of them came into it with an attitude that it's going to suck."
No further info on the next project was revealed, but Hawk has promised "details soon".
I played the game in a department store, of all the places, and it really does suck. It's just SO unresponsive, you turn to go in a direction and it responds like 2 seconds later, leading to lots of crashing into walls. Plus pulling tricks makes you look ridiculous, and only basic tricks can be pulled off also. I only did those because I didn't want to fall off.
Oh God, it's probably like that kid in the Natal video... pretending to skate on thin air so you look even more of a numpty. Oh and scanning in your own board deck so you can see it in-game... isn't it amazing how Natal didn't scan his fingers in!
RIDE got an average score of 46% on Metacritic so I'd be amazed if they drag the series further down, maybe he should just hand the baton over to Skate.
Though Pro 2 on XBLA would be welcome, re-do textures add online etc.
I hope this statement doesn't come back to bite him on the ass, he sounds like those deluded Spurs fans who harp on about finishing above bottomnal, revolution , etc.
