Final Fantasy XIII Collector's Edition confirmed

Square details limited special package to be available at launch
Square Enix has officially confirmed plans to release a limited Special Edition Collector's Edition of Final Fantasy XIII.

The pack contains the game, the official soundtrack CD, an art-filled hardback book, three art prints and a 'Brand of the l'cie' decal, all packed into a branded presentation box. There's no mention of price, but this seem to be the same Collectors Edition prematurely outed on the GameStop Italy website earlier this week, which prices it at €79,98 (about £70).

But where to pre-order?
microhenry on 22 Jan '10
I was just about to say it was outed at that price on that site. hehe
By the time i got to the comment page you beat me to the punch! I highly doubt that would be the retail price but if it is it'll most probably be as quickly out of stock as they can put them on the shelfs.

Just pre-ordered it from shopto. £57 which isn't bad. Going to be an expensive but a fun few months.
brookie_2001 on 22 Jan '10
Most UK stores have it in their online catalogue now. GAME, Gamestation, Gameplay & Amazon have it online for £59.99 & ShopTo has it for a slightly nicer price of £57.85.

Found this image on ShopTo displaying the so-called contents.

It is listed at Game now.

So it doesn't include the full OST?
Sirini on 22 Jan '10
I'm a sucker for an art book, so I just pre-ordered it from Game.

Didn't think about ShopTo though, has anyone pre-ordered from them before? I like their next day delivery, but I've always pre-ordered from Game, and got every one, bar Bayonetta, on the Thursday. Wondering if ShopTo are the same/better/worse...

Any experience?

ShopTo is very good, if you don't get it on the day they'll credit you £3 - mine usually turn up early. They do next day delivery and are pretty much always the cheapest as well, for example the standard edition is £5 cheaper than most places.

That's pretty good of them to credit you a few quid back. Yeah, I do like their next day service, very useful when you absolutely must have a game the next day!

Cheers for the info.

As for your question about the OST, it sounds like the same thing SE did with Star Ocean: TLH, that was just a selection of tracks too.

Just got mine from Play.com for £59.99. I'm a sucker for FF Special Editions.
lordirongut on 22 Jan '10
Please release a special edition in the states!
FAUNA on 23 Jan '10
Should I be interested? Loads of companies are producing special editions to bait more sales. I'll wait until the game's been out a while, so that the game has been played by quite a few people first.
Desaima on 23 Jan '10
That's pretty s**tty it's not the full soundtrack. For that price, I was kind of hoping... Will still pick it up though.
spacelion on 23 Jan '10
I'll be sticking to the standard edition, I want the whole soundtrack!

Geez Special and Collectors Editions have really gone down hill in the past few years, with the prices are getting even higher, a few years ago CE's used to go for around £40-45 and you got some nice stuff with it to, now its just some music cd and the odd art book.

ME2 CE is the only decent one i've seen in a while, and priced fairly for what you get included in it.

Anyone else noticed any decent CE's coming out?
