A video of Square Enix's long-rumoured Western-developed Final Fantasy game has appeared on the internet - and supposedly it's still in development.
According to the leaked video's description, Final Fantasy 'Fortress', as it's codenamed, was in development at Bionic Commando dev, Grin, but work has since been switched to an unnamed developer.
"The project has not been officially announced yet, but its existence is known due to information leaked by former members of the development team and sources in the video game industry," reads the video description.
"It is an action game set some time after the events of FINAL FANTASY XII: REVENANT WINGS, and is intended for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Windows platforms."
We've left a message with Square Enix. It looks pretty good. What do you think?

While the video may look good lets remember that GRIN in its final years made Bionic Commando, Wanted and Terminator: Salvation. I know another team may be developing it now but I don't hold out much hope for it.

Yes they made one game that wasn't half as bad as some reviews made out-Bionic Commando. One good licensed game - Wanted. and terminator salvation.
This game has the potential to be very good. Looks like a more open world demon souls to me.

Those were my thoughts exactly, Monkey. If that were the case then it's already off to a good start - Open world Demon's Souls in the world of FFXII? That sounds like a big win.
My only wonder, though, is this actually real? Or is it an elaborate hoax from some internet prankster?

Looks like it has potential. Needs a lot of polishing though; for instance, it would be nice if the right foot doesn't appear to be floating above the ground by several inches.

Has no one else heard the Left 4 Dead 2 special infected in this clip? There's Spitter and Jockey audio in it. They're unmistakable.

Do you really think another developer would use Valves audio for their tech demo? Listen closely starting at or around 0:50. That's a Jockey.
