Microsoft's creative director Peter Molyneux has billed 2010 "the biggest year in gaming's history" - as he takes centre stage for the launch of Project Natal in November.
The Black & White creator has been busy working on gesture-recognising 'human sim' Milo , which he showed off at E3 in June, 2009 - and which looks set to launch alongside the motion-sensing Xbox 360 peripheral in November.
In addition, Molyneux is readying Fable III, the sequel to his award-winning Xbox 360 RPG. Molyneux has dropped heavy hints that this too will take advantage of Natal's motion-sensing tech.
Meanwhile, Molyneux (he's a busy bee, our Peter) is also beavering away on an 'unannounced project'. Who wants to bet that it also uses Natal?
"I'm most looking forward to the end of 2010 as it represents the biggest year ever for both myself and the industry," Molyneux told MCV this week.
"If we get to the end of the year pulling off half of what's on the cards it will be a landmark year for games."
I think it could be - there's certainly plenty of high-quality titles on the horizon and that's before we get the Wand and Natal.
Personally, I can't wait to hear a little more about Arkham Asylum 2 and get the final verdicts on Red Dead Redemption - those 2 alone could well make my year.
Very good Mr. Molyneux. Now, could I please have another "Syndicate" game? Thanks.
There is another Syndicate in production, but the license is owned by EA (as it was a Bullfrog IP) - so it won't have anything to do with Lionhead or Molyneux.
Ive been trying to think of previous years where there were as many Games that I wanted pretty much on Day 1. I failed to think of any year that contained so many 'must have' Games.
Not even thinking about the Motion games that will no doubt start to appear on all consoles this year but the core games are absolutely outstanding!
How much do you get for a liver in pretty good condition these days ?

I'm not sure, but I might need some new lungs. I do like a smoke when I play games!

My lungs are charred black with my smoking, still my smoking always seem to improve my Gaming experience .
it wont top the saturn years or dreamcast launch for me.
this motion toss is going to take focus off the games i like. a lot of stuff has been gimped for mass market glory lately. this is a bad trend. only getting worse.
agent and BC2 im looking forward to greatly. but im not going to hype up the entire year of gaming for no reason.

Fair enough. Personally, I havent looked forward to so many Games in a 12 month period since ... well ... ever. Those 2 Games you mentioned should be great, stand outs even and pretty much guaranteed AAA, the fact that I could name about another 10 Games that could potentially fit that description just amazes me.
At least you have 2 Games to look forward to next year grasshopper
Peter Molyneux is absolutely right, 2010 will be an absolutely incredible year for games. With titles like Heavy Rain, White Knight Chronicles (EU, NA), Yakuza 3 (EU, NA), God Of War Collection (EU, Japan), God Of War 3, Yakuza 4 (Japan), Gran Turismo 5, White Knight Chronicles 2 (Japan), The Last Guardian, Final Fantasy XIV, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Monster Hunter Tri and Pokemon Heart Gold/Soul Silver (EU/NA). Sony and Nintendo really are pushing the industry forwards, how great of Peter Molyneux to notice.
LOL.......just kidding, everyone knows Sony and Nintendo aren't the only two companies pushing out great games this year. I forgot all the multi - platform games that are hitting shelves too like Final Fantasy XIII (EU, NA), Dante's Inferno, Quantum Theory, Mafia 2, Fallout: New Vegas, Metal Gear Solid: Rising, Pro Evolution Soccer 2011, Smackdown Vs Raw 2011, True Crime: Shanghai, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2, Red Dead Redemption, Nier, Resonance Of Fate and Batman: Arkham Asylum 2.
Yup, 2010 is gonna be great for gamers but terrible for gamers bank accounts.
