Picross 3D release date confirmed

Nintendo will release Picross 3D on the same day as DSi XL. The follow-up to the brilliant Picross DS is coming on March 5 so players will be able to complete the new 3D puzzles on the big screens.

Picross DS is one of the best puzzle games on the handheld and this new 3D version sees players chiselling away at a block to reveal one of 350 objects. Once the object has been uncovered, it comes to life in a little animation.

Picross is one of those puzzle games that is harder to explain than to play! It is a traditional nonogram grid-based puzzle which sees you attempting to work out which squares should be filled or left blank by applying logic in regards to the numbers that are on the side of the grid.

Picross 3D features fewer rules as you eliminate the extra cubes based on numeric information in the rows and columns.

The game features a level editor and you can share your creations via local wireless connection or online.
