God Of War Trilogy release date touted

UPDATE: Special GoW III pack coming to UK end of March, say retail ads; £110 pricetag confirmed
Sony's God Of War Trilogy will arrive on UK shelves on March 20th in the UK.

At least, that's according to UK retailers Gamestation and GAME.

Oddly, that's a Saturday, so don't mark it in the diary just yet. Sony told CVG today it was 'not in a position' to confirm the date.

The pack contains God Of War III, as well as HD remakes of its two home console predecessors and an artbook, soundtrack and more.

The price, however, is less appealing. Sony has confirmed to CVG that the £110 tag mentioned by GAME is accurate. Ouch.

UPDATE: GAME and Gamestation appear to have deleted the original listings, which were available to view earlier today.

Ouch indeed. Although it's worth looking at the link before you post your ire, it looks pretty hefty - it's not just a BR case with snazzy sleeve.

There's a kick in the teeth to anyone who didn't import it. Thats near enough 50 quid more than what it'll have cost me for my import of the collection and the £40 for the 3rd game.

Its a nice looking box but honestly who would pay over the odds for a box that won't fit on your games rack and some GoW heavy metal music CD's. The extra skins only come into play when you've completed the game once and those will be available on PSN soon enough.

£80 would have been acceptable but £110's just taking the p**s a bit.
ensabahnur on 11 Jan '10
jesus christ.

think i'll just get the collection and standard ed of the third game then. it'll cost significantly less.
WHERESMYMONKEY on 11 Jan '10
I've already stumped up £40 for the GOW collection, so I won't be getting the special edition.

£110 seems very expensive at first glance.

However, you would be getting all 3 games, which would cost you around £80 anyway - and all of the extra bits and pieces I am sure are worth £30 to the collectors out there.

Not bad when you think about it.

EDIT: Ah, looks like nobody is willing to think about it! Laughing

i think god of war 3 and the collection will end up being closer to £65 when its released over here. God of war 1&2 are apparently going to be a budget release. not sure that there is an exta £30- £50 worth of extras in it.

the CD sounds alright. but'll probably be an EP. so 5-6 tracks that'll probably be up on itunes or somewhere on the web pretty quiickly.

The box will more than likely be plastic. If it was stone then i'd proabably agre with the price tag.

couldn't care less about extra skins or in game weapons.
WHERESMYMONKEY on 11 Jan '10
I loled hard when I saw the price on GAME's website, I will be buying them seperately; GOW 1 & 2 collection + GOW 3.
YCshinobi on 11 Jan '10
When you take a good look at whats in the box £110 isn't a bad price ok it not a great price. Don't forget activision was charging £150 for a special edition mw2
cheezze on 11 Jan '10
Right... I was really up for this collection. I even asked a long while ago if we could have this trilogy collection on the PS Blog when they were discussing GOW III, but now it's £110 I doubt I'll get it. I probably would have paid close to the £80-90 mark but over £100 is a little much for a set of games that would cost closer to £70. Factor in the fact I've played both the originals before on PS2 and it's a lot less appealing. Oh well. Sad
wrightandrewjame on 11 Jan '10
I already have GOW 2 and if I ever get a PS3, I'll just buy the game on its own - if its any good, that is

Yep, didn't buy that either. Overpriced bilk.
FiltyMonkey on 11 Jan '10
Bugger. Would be awesome if they just released the three of them for sixty quid.
SICARIUS1 on 11 Jan '10
ooo £110's abit steep, i'll stick to the cheaper option, people will buy it though, theres loads of nutters out there who just love to drop notes on these types of things! good luck to em lol

Man £110?

I was hopin it'd be around the £80 mark and I'd hae definitely gone for it but now? No chance.

GoW trilogy will be...£25 I think, plus £40 for GoW III = £65.

Are all the extras worth £45? Hell No.

To those who've imported the GoW Collection, which retailers did you use? Sony apparently have no plans to release it separately from this bundle and I won't be paying this price.

Thanks, but I try to avoid using eBay. Although it's likely I'll make an exception in this case!

if u want GOW 1&2 you can try renchi.com or videogamesplus.ca about £30 from each...This bundle is plain expensive, I got the collection, I think I will buy the game alone, sod £110, I was going to but that price is rediculous!

As stated above, this is still listed on GAME website, with the option to pre-order for £109.99 - I personally think that is far too much - £70-£80 and I would have considered it. I think they will struggle to shift them at that price, and we will see big price drops, as on some other recent collectors edition..............

Even better, as it's a UK company. Thanks.

Are they on drugs?

I was up for the collection, but was thinking 60-70 quid.
