Heavy Rain sex scenes 'not porn'

Developer David Cage defends game's steamy content
The creator of PS3 psychological thriller Heavy Rain has defended the game's sex scenes - insisting they are "definitely not porn".

In an exclusive interview with PSM3 - which you can read on CVG here - Quantic Dream boss David Cage said that the game's steamy moments were "about real characters doing what adults do when they fall in love".

"There are a couple [of sex scenes], but it's definitely not porn," he said.

"We don't intend to push the boundaries and be ultra-realistic in every detail. It's about real characters having emotions and doing what adults do when they fall in love."

There's nothing wrong with a bit of bump and grind.

Surely she is being sarcastic?

It's not that realistic. She would've complained that she was too tired or had an headache.

If Fahrenheit is anything to go by then I definetly agree with him. Though the unlockable 'strip' video in that game definetly was Laughing

As long as it has no out of the blue dead guy on human girl sex, I'm cool with it. Cool
Black Mantis on 14 Jan '10
Well I have Fahrenheit which is from the same developer, it has a 15 rating by the BBFC and contains sex in cutscenes and in game. I don't think it's porn it is just a thing in life and the game is about people and well people have sex. But yes there will be media issues but this is not wrong as it isn't meanless it is going to be involved in the plot and characters.

Awesome! My mind is telling me "No". But my body, my body's telling me "YEESSSSS".

As long as the sex scenes actually contribute to the storyline and aren't stuck in there gratuitously. Seriously, sex scenes in most movies and TV shows are so contrived and awkward, they just make me roll my eyes. Confused

Faux News became an even greater laughing stock for those not predisposed to irrational, ultra conservative one-sided soap box hysterics masquerading as "news" upon announcing the recent addition to its active ranks of that stalwart defender of all things "true" and "American" Sarah Palin. Now there is someone I would be just a bit terrified to see gain the most powerful office in the world... Confused

definitely not porn, definitely not buying it then, cmon david, change the whole philosophy of your 3 year project ,and change it into a porn game, guaranteed sales, like if you leaked that there was sex scenes in it, oh hold on i see whats happening, you sly fox
martinawatson on 14 Jan '10
"Is not porn" - Damn, wish it was. We have bad language, violence and drugs in games so why can't we have a nice f**k once in a while? GTA has strippers bet they were rubbish, c'mon, let us play some virtual bongos.

Well, I seemed to of remembered a tiny bit wrong but there's a bonus scene where the cop's girlfriend (if the cop was the black guy) does a dance for him and right near the end takes her dress off and dances nude. You see a bit of ass and t**s, and right as the video fades out you see her front Laughing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g99jgXausCo
dark_gamer on 14 Jan '10
yeah its not porn but surely its hentai LOL ! Laughing
thelazyone on 15 Jan '10
The sex scenes in Farenheit are pretty awful- and the one at the end where Carla, within days of meeting Lucas tells him she loves him and they get it on- despite the fact that he's actually dead, a point that would probably be seen as a bit of a turn off for most women. Not Carla though, the dirty cow.

I've got a feeling that these scenes in Heavy Rain are gonna be a little embarrasing to watch.
