Alan Wake screens get spooky

Open, flashlight, clear
Microsoft has passed over a new selection of shots from the spooky action-adventure, Alan Wake. As always, it's looking the part.

Here's a clip from Xbox World's most recent preview: "It's hard to remember a game that has been glimpsed so little and yet generated so much discussion. Admittedly, not all of that discussion has been positive.

"In fact, mostly talk of Alan Wake is followed by arguments about whether it will ever come out, if it can possibly live up to three years' worth of hype and - whisper it - if it even exists anymore. Well, after a year of silence, a new trailer landed last month so we know, at least, it exists. But can it live up to expectations - and when will the game actually arrive on shop shelves?

"Release date first, then - because there isn't one. As is Remedy's wont, the game will only see the light of day when completed. The Finnish coders have consistently shaken off any vague seasonal release pushed their way by publishers Microsoft, repeating on their website that the game only debuts once it's done."

Continued reading the Alan Wake preview.

I believe Alan Wake on XBOX360 will beat Heavy Rain on ps3.
Although they both made me feel thrill.

Heavy Rain is going to be way better! Alan Wake is going to go the same way of Alone in the Dark! Massively over hyped! And massive let down! Heavy rain will be cool! Fahrenheit was awesome!

Time will tell, presuming it is released. I think it will be, though not soon enough for my taste (and certain others, eh MC?). Wink

Both look painfully dull to me, but I guess it'll all come down to whether they can tell a decent story or not. Neutral

Its good to see another screen shot, I have high hopes for this game but the lack of information is something I have got used to it. Very Happy This game better come out after the two other games that I want Splinter Cell and Red Dead Redemption have delays/problems! Crying or Very sad This game looks great and I think it will come out and now I believe that it will be a success.

Those screenshots are getting tedious.

Why don't remedy just stop releasing the same shots and finish (no pun intended!) the fecker? Sad

I've asked before, and I'll ask again... why is anyone looking forward to this game?

I'm convinced I've seen and read all the information released about it as everyone else, but I'm not getting pulled in. There's no hype to speak of, just people saying they think the game will be amazing! Why? A man with a torch, looking for his wife, third person game... come on, what am I missing here?

Watch a few trailers, then couple that with the fact it is being developed by Remedy.

Im not going to to do a 6 paragraph rebuttal about why im looking forward to this Game or list all the reasons why I think this Game is going to be great (thats what Google's for).

1 thing should make most Gamers out there look forward to this Game, its being made by Remedy Entertainment! Good enough for me.

I dont know what you mean KFD Wink, you make it out that im looking forward to this Game or something Laughing .

Both will be good games. They both have a good developer with a good reputation. I don't give a s**t how many they sell. As long as they are good games and i'm able to play it. And if one game gets 90% and the other 93%... pff who the f*ck cares.

What can I say? I'm a sucker for a good thriller. Remedy certainly has the pedigree to deliver a class act thriller, thus I remain hopeful that "Alan Wake" will not disappoint me.
