3D Dot Game Heroes is a bizarre but brilliant-looking RPG with a unique 3D 8-bit graphics style that harks back to the classics. It was Japan-only. It's not now.
SouthPeak has just confirmed that it'll be out over here in May, which is great news for any of you who, like us, watch videos of it on YouTube last year wishing you knew how to read those Japanese crazy symbols. Now you won't have to.
"3D Dot Games Heroes takes its inspiration from classic role-playing games released on ancient consoles that are now appearing on the Antiques Roadshow," explains Southpeak's excited PR big man Rob Burman.
"It's a virtual trip down memory lane complete with swords, wizards and monsters," adds The Burmanator, as we'll refer to him from now on.
"One of the greatest features of 3D Dot Game Heroes (and there are plenty to choose from) is the sweet character creation system so you can make your own blocky hero. Whether you fancy becoming an adventuring cat, a hard-as-nails robot, or a 'tribute' to a well known videogame character, you just have to build them using the straight forward and intuitive system," says The Burmanator.
@Mark: Do you have something against importing it? I have a US copy and the online works absolutely fine. I got mine from GamesBasement.co.uk. It's worth it man.
Wasn't this that awesome looking Zelda rip-off? Sweet
Meh, most creative industrys are built on plagiarism. Without Space invaders, there would be no Galaxian. Without Robotron there would be no Smash TV. If someone hadn't ripped off Sergeant Bilko, there'd be no Top Cat.
